  • A bit of a vent here...

I'm frustrated, but trying to stay on track! It's 10:30 a.m. Eggs do not sound good, and I'm trying to stay away from cheese (more on that later...). All of my meat is frozen. I'm trying to save my veggie carbs for later. What is there to eat!!?

I'm on day 10. Other than the seasoning on my chicken on day 2, and the 1 1/2 walnuts I ate a couple of days ago, I've pretty much been on-plan. I've been over the limit on cheese several of the days, so I'm trying to cut back on that. In order to eat some semblance of a normal dinner with my family, I've been trying to save much of my veggie carbs for later in the day.

Still, it's almost 10:30 now, I'm hungry, but I can't figure out what to put in my mouth! Logically speaking, the choices are meat, eggs, cheese, and veggies. If I'm staying away from cheese, saving my veggies for later, and all of my meat is frozen, I'm gonna have to eat eggs (without cheese :-( ) even though it sounds repulsive this morning, right?

One last thing, even though I know there are other suggested ways of measuring, my weight hasn't budged in 3-4 days, even though I know I've been in ketosis the entire time. {insert frown here}.

Still hanging on, but just barely,

I'd like a regular bath towel to fit all the way around me.
I'd like to be able to fit into clothes bought at a regular store, not a store for "large women".
I'd like to go on the annual rafting trip with my kids, confident that if I get tossed out of the raft into the river, I'll be able to hoist my backside back in with a minimum of embarasment!

do you have frozen chicken breasts - I find, when in a bind, that grilling up one of these on a foreman grill [or you could microwave]. I just put mayo on it and nummy!

I defrost meat in the microwave in 10 minutes. You should spread your veggie carbs throughout the day to avoid blood-sugar spiking because you ate them all at once.

Try planning your meals ahead of time. Sit down for 10 minutes today & plan your meals for tomorrow - then you won't have the frozen meat/no veggies, etc problem.

also, if you have tuna, shrimp, salmon, chicken in a can...etc - any of these, mixed with mayo and a little spice - on top of lettuce/spinach is very good.

Re: A bit of a vent here...

There are the "mock" danishes and also some good pumpkin recipes (the ones I like are like a pudding kind of). The only thing for me is that the pumpkin doesn't keep me full for long, so I have to add extra protein in there.

I will make hamburger patties and freeze them. I can take one out and defrost it in 1 1/2 min and by then have my grill ready to go (indoor grill).

I get tired of eggs but also can't quite stomach something too heavy.

smoked salmon is a nice change of pace, a scoop of tuna salad? How about chayote slices microwaved until tender and then sauteed with butter and cinnamon and splenda? Kind of like apple pie filling. Mmmmm. They are very low in carbs for a veggie and hit both a breakfasty/snack/ and sweet spot.

Honestly? I haven't liked artificial sweeteners in the past, so I haven't tried Splenda, either. I haven't had anything sweetened in any way for 10 days. It might be time! (thanks)

Re: A bit of a vent here...

why are you saving your vegetables for later? To keep your blood sugar levels stable (which keeps you from craving and getting hungry) you should spread vegetables throughout the day.

when I first started I would have a stalk of celery with cream cheese or by itself during the day if I got hungry. Or I'd measure out broccoli or cauliflower and dunk it in ranch dressing - it helped when I was hungry.
this is a chayote -- when you fix it with splenda and cinnamon it tastes like fried apples and it's a great way to get a new vegetable in you. Our grocery stores have them and also Walmart has them in the produce department.

Well, I'm glad I didn't throw away clothes I wore 10-15 years ago. They all fit once again....

Darn I hate those days. I think we all have them. When you OWL it will be easier more breakfast choices then.
No I am in love with eggs usually. I think I could live on eggs. Have you tried all ways to do them? The crusless quishe is kind of handy as you can have frozen pieces to microwave for busy mornings.
I also like the moch Danish idea for days that you want something different.
I like to have hamburger patties (pre made) in the freezer for days when I do not want eggs or I need something quick.
Hope the rest of your day is looking better.

I was saving my salad for the afternoon when I wanted something refreshing, and I was saving my cauliflower to have "rice" at dinnertime with my family.
