Question for the ladies!

Hi everyone,

I started atkins a week ago. Ive had a marina coil for four years without ever having a period and I wake up this morning and eh presto I have one. Has anyone had a similar experience? Im a bit shocked I feel as if Im a teenager again experiencing my first one!

Anyway, Id be delighted to hear if anyone has been through the same or do I need to see my practice nurse to get this checked/removed?

I am on the depo shot and i dont get periods either...but soon as i start atkins up again i begin to spot. I think its because your body is going through a significant change and things just start happening. if you are really concerned then i would suggest seeing a doctor.

I didn't bother with the expense of seeing a doctor. I googled the problem related to low carbing. It's normal. It's not a great thing when you're not used to it, but it will taper off and your body will adjust. I believe it's a very high level of estrogen in your system that causes it. Hang in there. Most of us have been there!!
