  • is this normal?

    Hey everyone day three of atkins going into day 4 I have a headache when does it go? I am drinking 2 litres plus of water! per day!

    Yes i think it's totally normal. The same thing happened to me... actually it's happening right now, i have a headache but from other people i've read that it's because your body is changing it's way of getting energy from. From glucose to ketones.
    Keep drinking water that should "clean" you up and hopefully it will be over soon.

      Are you also quitting caffeine at the same time? The headache is usually gone by day 5 or so...

        It should be added here that the body is not deriving energy only from ketones, but from ketones and free fatty acids. According to some research done on subjects in starvation mode, the proportion of energy coming from free fatty acids increases after the first three weeks, while the ketone bodies are left mainly for the brain.
