  • Newbie on Day Two of Induction

    Hello Everyone !!

This is my first time posting on this board, and I can already see that this board will help me get thru the challenges that come with the Induction Phase of Atkins.

I look forward to sharing my success with you all

However I do have a concern, I consider myself to be a "picky eater" in which I only eat certain green veggies: greens, cabbage, cucmbers, brocilli, given this I'm worried that I will not meet the 12-15 net carb requirements for optimal success.

Can anyone share what happens if you don't meet this requirement?

    Thanks in advance.

WELCOME! Let me first say congrats on making the decision to reclaim a healthy you!

The 12-15 net carb limit that you mention...I think you are reading that on Atkins dot com? If so, ignore what it says and read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution copyright 2002. It is the last book that Dr. Atkins had a hand in writing. Since then the big corporate Atkins Company has learned that they like making money...and that means that they really don't follow all of Dr. Atkins teachings which is detrimental to your success. Until you can put your hands on a copy of the bood (either at the local library or bookstore) read the posts at the top of the forums that list most of the guidelines for you.

Now about the picky eating...when your tastebud rid themselves of the impact of white flour, junk food, sugar, and other processed junk, you may be surprised what the foods that you once hated taste like. For me the veggies taste fresher and sweeter than ever before. I like many more veggies that I did Pre-Atkins.

Next, take the time to browse the many recipes on this site...you are sure to find many that will make your mouth water and that will add flare to your menu.

We are all here to support one another...and you will notice that we as a group are big veggie pushers...it is much easier to eat the small amount than what you think.

Good luck and have a great Atkins Day!
    Carrie
