Sweets.... I need something. BAD!! I'm sooooo fighting not caving in for just a "bite" of something sweet. I know that my "bite" will turn into a CHOMP, and then, knowing myself.... a inhale fest.

I've looked through my Atkins cookbooks and either can't find anything ingredient wise or has nuts or flour.

I'm chugging water and smacking gum to help.... so far so good. BUT I have to go home... alone with my Sweeties "Devil" snacks lurking.

Any suggestions or ideas on what I can have to squash this sugar monster over the head and stomp on it?

Maybe just an entire Stevia packet.

The best way to fix a sugar craving is to starve it. I know that it may be hard but it is the best way. Let's see if we can figure out what brought it on...

The gum...were you chewing it before the cravings came? The sweetner in it may be to blame for the cravings.

Have you tried any new foods?

Or is this a simple...I saw/smelled something sweet and GOTTA have it?

For me I stop sweet cravings in there tracks by either eatin an ounce or two of the sharpest flavor cheese that I like, or I go for a walk. While I walk I think about why I am doing Atkins...what will happen if I stop...and where I want to be in a few months. It usually works for me.

On the other hand there are a few recipes that are Induction legal and low carb friendly...like crustless cheesecake, or something I have been tempted to try...cooked pumpkin with a packet of spenda (or Truvia), with pumpkin pie spice.

If you look in the Food and Recipe section you should be able to find something....or try the cheese and see if it works.

Funky, don't you cheat on me now girl! You've got too much invested to blow it! You can do it! If this sweetaholic can be on day 23 with no sugars crossing her lips you can too!!!!

I wish there was an easy fix but Chauber has some goog points. Best to steer clear of sweet things until you get your cravings in check. I made the mistake of getting some "sugar free" chocolates in my first week and MAN did I stall and feel like crap. Not worth it!

Deep breathes, grab some cheese or something meaty.
      You go girl!!!

I went home at lunch to see Sweetie and saw the blasted chocolate chip cookies on the counter :0( I found a ketchup packet in my desk and my mouth actually WATERED! Oh the horror. I chucked it.
The gum, along with 24oz of water I just chugged seemed to help some, but I'll cruise over to the recipie section.

Some people find that eating something 'sour' like a pickle (check the label to make sure no added sugar in it) skewers that nasty sugarmonster right in the tummy!!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I swear dill pickles saved me many many many months ago. They still work. I can't remember the technical explanation and you may not even care as long as the craving goes bye bye. I remember reading somewhere the brain cannot differentiate between sweet and sour. Dill pickles with NO SUGAR work every single time for me. I always have a jar in the fridge. Try it and let us know how it works for you.

YES!! I know what helps. I do two things when I feel a sweet tooth

              1. eat sugar free jello on a spoon until my craving goes away. (It's a bit weird tasting this way but it takes care of the sugar craving.

              2. GOOD EARTH SWEET AND SPICY DECAF TEA (It has to be the decaf and it has to be the SMALL box, not the big box. The big boxes are not as sweet for some reason. I think the small box has like 18 of them in it. This tea is my favorite all time tea. It's super sweet on it's own with no carbs or hidden sugars! I swear it. It's so hard to believe but it's totally guilt free.)

I don't agree that 'starving' a sweet tooth is the best. At least not for me.

Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're probably right.
