  • Back to Induction I go...

    Hey all-

Well after falling off the wagon during my TOM and then deciding I need to do Weight Watchers because (in a whiny voice) "I can't do ittttt..." I'm back and ready to restart...if nothing else my week and a half of weight watchers showed me there's no such thing as moderation....now I know it's this or nothing...there's no way I can stick to anything BUT this. I stayed the course longer on Atkins than any other diet I've tried. So I just have to suck it up and get back on. NO MORE EXCUSES!!!

Re: Back to Induction I go...

      Hi Sarah-
Nice to see you back! I think this TOM is HUGE!!! This week I have really struggled, I gained weight, then I couldn't control my bingeing and guess who showed up on my door step this morning....you guessed it! (A week early too!) I also fell of the wagon last month during my TOM so I think it is going to be a monthly struggle but now I feel like I am doing o.k. and things will be great!

I think if you just plan for a rough few days during your TOM then you will be better prepared to deal with a possible weight gain/ uncontrollable cravings.

I know you can do it!

I am so with you! I only have my TOM about once a year becaue my gyno has me on these fabulous pills that I take continuously- thankfully! I can't do WW either- I tried and tried- and what used to work for me 10 years ago- doesn't anymore. I am liking Atkins more and more, the more I experiment with Induction foods, the happier I am!! We can do it!

Re: Back to Induction I go...

Thanks everyone! Just being back on Atkins for a week, I lost another 6 lbs which tells me this is the way my body likes me to be eating. My face is clearing up again (when I switched to WW and was eating crap my face broke out again) and the fog is lifting from my brain and I'm refocused again. It's amazing how quickly Atkins fixes your body and makes you feel healthier. I even met my first mini-goal this week! YAY! My TOM is next week, but I'm prepared this time to deal with the craving curve balls and I'm going to make it through cheat-free!! If Sarina can get from 387 last July to 174 now, I have every faith that I can too! Every day I cheat is a day (or more) that I waste and I'm done wasting time. It's just not worth it anymore. The momentary pleasure isn't worth the price I'd pay after.

Thank you for all the support and I hope to return the favor. I went out last weekend and bought some new clothes at my favorite outlet place in a size smaller than I bought last time, which felt great. I was a 30/32 and wore size 32 jeans but when we went shopping this last weekend, I bought a pair of size 28 jeans and they fit great and all my 26/28 tops I bought fit great too. I only bought one pair of jeans because they're harder to make fit as you shrink. The tops I can get away with longer because I have big shoulders and boobs so they'll go further. I'm just excited to be back in a size that pretty much every plus-size section carries. Most of them top out at size 28 so when I got past that I was rather limited in where I could go for clothes. Now, I've got a lot more options again. That in and of itself was a great victory! WOOHOOOOOO!!!
