    I've been on Adkins for one week, and happy so far! I am skipping lunch and only eating dinner and drinking lots of water all day. 222/215/165 swimming every night 7lbs down! 50lbs to go! I wonder how long it will be until someone notices that I have lost weight! Can't wait for that!!!

    Hi ChemoBabyMama,

    Great Job! Sounds like you have it all under control. I don't know how long it takes people to notice. But I'm sure it will be soon!

      You are not doing Atkins properly if you are skipping lunch. You should not go more than 6 hours without eating. The idea is to stabalize your blood sugar and to keep your metabolizism working. It really works.

            On Atkins, when we are not hungry after 6 hours, we don't need to eat a big meal, but only a small snack combining fat, protein and some of our veggie carbs. It can be something like a boiled egg.

              Usually with weight loss people will start to notic at around 10-20lbs. It can be vey frustrating until then but the joy and confidence you feel is soooo worth it. If you liek me you'll immediately be saying things like "really. omg are you serious. Dont mess with me, you can really tell?" lol

              ALSO:

              Just because you aren't hungry doesn't mean your body desn't need to fuel.

              Think of t as a bon fire. It will continue to burn but if it is depleted of its fuel it will burn out even though it seems liek it may keep going. You feed it every few hors with logs and kindling and it'll burn until you stop feeding it.

              Our bodies work in the same manner. If youremove the fuel there is nothing to make the body work for you. You have to have fuel to burn.

                  Can you explain this further? I am not undrstandingwhat this means.

                  So check your BMR and AMR and then eat your Atkins plan between the two. Dr Atkins tells you this but not in easy to understand sentences. Eat only enough to satisfy your hunger, eat small serving when not hungry, eat more if you are tired.

                  Happy low carbing to you and remember as you lose the weight your BMR will get lower so if you want to continue your rapid loss you will need to lower your cals about 9/pound or increase your activity levels
                  I am completely unfamiliar with this and I have gne through the book several ties when I have usedthis WOL. Have I just missed it or can someone reference the Chapter this is in.
