  • Dammit Dammit Dammit!

I was doing so bloody well!!!! Until this weekend!

Fruit Salad, wine, wine and more wine, plus one very small piece of cake and a late night bacon sandwich so 2 pieces of bread!

I was 2 days away from finishing 2 weeks induction, but I've lost 11lbs so far, so I am getting STRAIGHT back on this wagon tomorrow!

Going through fertility treatment and consultant advised low carb, so must do it this time. I want my little bundle of joy so badly, I need to do this.

    xx

    ((((((Emmy))))))

NOT tomorrow. NOW. Right NOW. Why the he|| would you wait until tomorrow to get closer to holding your little one? That's one day further away, hon. When he/she gets here, I promise you, that one day will count!

Now this is out of love....

    LOL

    Alright,.....deep breath.

What happened? What was the switch? What was going on, what were you thinking, how were you feeling that made that first glass of wine be an okay thing for you? That first bite of fruit salad?

For me, personally, the faster I sit down and dig into what happened, the easier it is to get back on track and avoid the same pitfall.

So? Talk to us. What's going on?

      Brook,

Well the fruit Salad was a meal at my friends house. She's a real formidable character. I managed to get the main course changed from Pasta to stew (where I could avoid the potato!) and I said I can't have sugar, so she said that she made fruit salad instead. I'm telling you, you don't know woman, had I not had a bit she'd have killed me with one look!

The wine came after a week of stress, fertility consultants appointments (not all good news at all - if we ever need IVF then we wouldn't be eligible on the NHS for the free round of treatment because DH has a child already) and no bl**dy sleep!!! And then it was my friends 30th birthday in London and we all got carried away!!

Cake, well, as I said it was a birthday, my step daughters 9th and friends 30th!

Stupid I know, I'm kicking myself! BUT, I have been good today and been back on track today (but the bacon sandiwch was technically at 3am) hence saying tomorrow!!!!!!!!

      xx

You'll come to a point where it's just inconceivable to you to allow anyone to make you feel like you have to eat something that's metabolic poison to you. Maybe I'm just a lot more blunt and straight forward than most people, but when it comes to my health? I'm the most formidable person I know, and I expect people who purport to care about me to respect me enough to not guilt the he|| out of me over something as ridiculous as a fruit salad.

The look wouldn't have killed you, and I'd have shamed her for wanting me to do something I've stated I can't/won't do for my health.

Next time, bring your own dish to share!

I'm sorry, Emmy. That has to be immensely stressful and disheartening.

Pssst- 3 minute chocolate cake recipe + google = No cheats and birthday participation

                  Re: Dammit Dammit Dammit!

Thanks all....I am back on today and suprisingly, despite my naughtiness, not hungry or craving carbs! Whoop Whoop!

Have had 4 of my 8 glasses of water too!

Brook, I think I found the recipe, although I have no idea where I would find almond flour....also, if it tastes like Almonds, then it's a no go for me! Can we get Liquid Splenda in the UK?!

I'm telling you, you Americans are FAR more geared up for low carbing than the Brits are....

                  xx

Aren't you supposed to be finishing induction before you go looking for chocolate cake recipes?! LOL

You make your own almond flour - (when you get to that rung, missy!)

And you can order liquid splenda online - I buy mine from SweetzFree.

AS far as I know sweetzfree won't ship outside mainland USA - at least a couple of years ago after waiting till a buying window and placing an order, giving card details and address for payment I eventually had an email from them saying they do nto send to this side of the pond

I did manage to get some liquid sucralose from this company https://www.ahfni.com/store/sucralose.php last year though.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
