  • I was hoodwinked by all the low carb sounding sweets outhere

    :yes Hi Everyone
I have not posted in over a month or maybe more. I was doing great
with my induction, and then I started adding what I thought we low carb 'additionals' to my diet. I got a taste of the ice cream and the sweets and I went nuts. Now I've gained about 7 lbs. I also have eaten a bit more salt than I wanted and I feel very tight in the fingers and legs.
I'm starting over induction today, and I can not let myself get cought up in the 'low carb' sweet isle. One of the good things I found was Arizona Brand, Green Tea, Low Carb version with splenda. I will keep this one as it added a little change to my water and diet rite soda. It is 8:25 am, and I'm on my 2nd bottle of water so far today, I just keep filling up my bottles from the water dispenser.
Peace and Blessings to you all and I hope and pray your induction is going well..

Yeah, the low carb treats derailed me the first time around. I've made a vow this time to stay away from them.

Interestingly, one of my friends, who is diabetic, says that when she uses one of the low carb items with sugar alcohol, her blood sugar goes up nearly as high as if she were eating the full sugar version. Methinks the manufacturers either lie about them not raising your blood sugar, or they haven't done enough testing and it's only true for some people.

Good for you though, for targeting the problem and deciding to give it another try. Good luck!

Gained it back after falling off the wagon a year later.

Thanks for this post...but it is adding to my stress!!! You see I am moving back to the US in 2 weeks, and I have been doing so well here in Germany with no "low carb" products at all. I haven't lost my cravings for sweets entirely as some other people have and I am a bit worried about being able to control myself..hopefully I can be strong..

Hang in there Michele....and "just don't do it"....not one little bite of sugar or the franken-treats. It's not worth it, and to be honest....it never tastes as good once you've gone on Atkins.

          Stay pure...you'll NEVER regret it!!!!
