  • Greeeeetings!

Hello everyone!!! I started Atkins on 9/28/09 an am currently on day 4 of the introduction and I feel great!!!! I have already lost weight and have discovered news foods (mainly veggies) that I like and would have never tried unless I started this lifestyle change!

I started dieting early this year, when I weighted 310, I did really well and dropped 30 pounds like nothing. Then I stalled for MONTHS. I finally decided to start Atkins and the pounds are falling off again. I though I would have a much harder time with this being so restrictive but so far I am doing just fine.

My goal is 50 pounds by Christmas, and since I have so much to lose to begin with I plan on staying on the introduction for a while. Well, time to hit the exercise bike before work.

Even with Atkins you will notice a stall period right around the mid 2 week mark if not near 2 weeks. DO NOT let this deter you throughout this WOL. You body will lose, play catch up, lose, play catch up. During these catch up phases is the minor stalling periods. During induction I think it is said that you should lose roughly about 10 or 20% of your goal within the 1st 2 weeks just by following the induction rules. Atkins really isn't so much restrive as it is trying to find ways to enjoy what items you can have. try not to stay on induction for more than a month because as your weight loss slows you need to add more fuel to the fire thus moving up to another 5 net carbs (the ladder). The more fuel you have for the fire the more you burn.

Restart: DEC. 16th, 2009 (why wait for Christmas)

        Re: Greeeeetings!

Thanks for the info Mirya. Im hoping that since I'm so overweight to begin with my stall wont come until I have lost some significant weight. I guess i can deal with it if it's not for two long, I'm just afraid I'll get discouraged. No sence worrying about that now it shouldnt be for a few weeks ( I hope)
