    I can't find Pork Rinds!

I want to get some pork rinds to use as bread crumbs for baked chicken but I can't find them anywhere! I'm not sure if maybe they are a regional kind of thing maybe to the south. I live in the northeast and having a hard time finding them. Is there anyone else who lives in New York state or a nearby state that might know about this? I've tried Hannaford, Walmart and a mini Price Chopper. I didn't try the regular sized price chopper because I didn't have the time but I'm wondering if maybe they might carry them.

We got 'em in the Pacific Northwest, so they're not just a southern thing.

I order pork rinds off Amazon. I like the microwave kind -- very nice and fresh.

I've never seen them at Walmart. I would think most regular grocery stores would have them, and I have ordered the microwave kind on Amazon . com. They come in a box with single-serving packets like popcorn. They're my favorite and puff up like that. They are really good.

Try gas station quick marts...I'm serious, that's where I saw them around here. Convenience stores might have them too. Grocery stores in my area don't carry them.

Mizksi, I think your right. It seems like in the past I've seen them at gas station with the other snacks. I'll have to hit up all my local stations!

I've seen them at Wallmart here in Oregon. It seems weird to me to live in a place where they are hard to find. I guess I just figured if they are in Oregon they have to be everywhere. They are everywhere here that sells chips, literally everywhere, except maybe vending machine.

The Lowreys ones? Are we allowed to have the dextrin, maxtrin, and maltodextrin they contain?

You are looking in the chip aisle right? At all the stores here they are on the very bottom row. Also every dollar store I have ever been in carries them.

A lot of mexican stores carry large bags of unseasoned pork rinds. They are very good and you don't have to worry about sodium.

Thanks everyone, I actually ended up finding them at a butcher/convenience store. I was walking past it the other day and figured, why not try. I've never used them in cooking before but I have to say, they make excellent bread crumbs! They even look like the real thing! I used them to make cream cheese and garlic stuffed chicken, it was delicious!

Chels, I'm originally from the North East and they have them around there. I find them near the meats, actually. Typically hanging on some kind of display. I don't remember ever seeing them in the snack food aisle.

Otherwise, try an online place like Amazon. Not sure about Walmart.

Believe it or not Whole Foods (in New Jersey) has a kind of Pork Rinds called Domingo's Chicharorrones. They're the same thing as pork rinds. Pretty decent. They saved my life because I'm a snacker and my usual snacks - nuts - are off limits.

Mexican stores will have them. Shoprite carries them but they dont always put them in the snack aisle. Same goes for Acme. The convenience stores often carry them as well.
