      Like Carole I often have no lettuce at all but still have 3 cups of 'salad vegetables' - usually red peppers, celery, mushrooms, radishes etc.
      In fact you could easily do Atkins without touching a bite of lettuce, which is basically chewy water!
      Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Every Whole Foods makes things differently. In our region (I think they all get some prepared foods from the same source) the egg salad just has celery, scallions and lemon juice. No red pepper. It says that there are 4 carbs in an 8 oz. container. The mayonnaise they use has honey in it. But on the jar of canola mayonnaise which I think is the same brand they use, it says 0 carbs per tablespoon. I think I'm not going to make myself crazy and continue to eat the mayonnaise.

        My almond milk is Almond Dream Original Unsweetened. I realize, sadly, I can't have it during induction but you all should keep it in mind for later stages because the box says 1g carb per 8 oz - 30 calories.

        What's the other website to calculate carbs?

              I make little baggies of veggies, each has 5 net carbs - I include 3 of each of the following: radishes, celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, pepper strips, and a small handful of sugar snap peas. I normally have a salad with lunch or dinner including leaf lettuce and spinach, and will add other veggies [onion, mushroom, etc], then I have one of the 'other' veggies with dinner [ie: mashed cauliflower, brussel sprounts, etc]

                I agree...love the Unsweetened Almond Breeze (original flavor). Fortunately, if you have any unopened cartons, they will keep until you reach the nut rung. Those shelf-stable packs are great!

                  I actually drink Almond Dream unsweetened original. I've checked the label on yours and it has rice or something that I don't eat in it. Mine has only 1 carb and the label says "Dietary Fiber less than 1g - 2% daily value" so it probably has less than 1 net carb per cup. It has 30 calories.

                  When in the program can you start drinking it? I only have 20 pounds to lose so I'm going to see where I am at the end of 2 weeks and hopefully I'll move on.

                  I'm starting to worry that because I stopped eating a lot of bad carbs about 25 years ago (gave up grains, sugar, dairy and potatoes) that maybe this won't work great for me. So far, I don't feel "lousy".

                    Tomatoes (any kind), sugar snap peas, and onions are on the "other" veggie list. Therefore, you need to count those amounts as part of the 1 cup of "other" vegetable you are eating for dinner.

                      you should have salad veggies that equal 2-3 cups... 2 cups salad veggies - 1 cup regular veggies. In this WOL do not even consider iceberg (head lettuce) as a veggie. lettuce has no nutritional value whatsoever so instead of chuckin' back the lettuce try fresh spinach, arugula or kale. In this WOL it is pretty much just a filler and an extra source of water.

                      Do you have a copy of the Dr. Atins 2002 book? It should give you list of foods you can eat to equal up to what you need. Eating only lettuce will cause your body to go into a starvation trip and cause you health probs.

                        You really need to read the book, plan your meals better and measure them out. You definitely need to start moving up the rungs once you get through induction especially since your so close to your goal.
