I finally stopped being stubborn and decided to try Atkins, because my boyfriend's father has had great success with it. I just really didn't want to give up ice cream or biscuits or cookie dough or....etc...
I only wanted to lose 15 pounds in the beginning (January 2002). I've currently lost 38 and am in lifetime maintenance.

I too, couldn't imagine having to give up ice cream, biscuits, etc. But believe me, once you break the addiction to the carb-laden foods, you will never miss them.

I was a junkfood queen prior to Atkins. Burgers, fries, shakes, potatoes at every meal, I lived in Nebraska (the CORN state), so corn was a staple in my diet. Give all that up?? WHOA BABY!!

Well, I gave Atkins 2 weeks. I lost 7 pounds on induction, my cravings disappeared, the foods I ate kept me satisfied and I knew I was on to something good! By 4 months, I had lost 15 pounds, so I kept going. I lost 27 pounds in the first 11 months by being strict and exercising everyday.

January 19, 2006 it will be 4 years on Atkins and I don't miss anything I used to eat. Nor do I miss those 38 pounds.
