  • It's unbearable!

    Ok. So I'm going to school to be a pastry chef. I'm around sugar and flour and carbs all the time, and I have to make sweets everyday I have class.

    I've been cheating a little and trying what I make to make sure it comes out good. Will this mess up ketosis? I think I just started it cuz I've been peeing like a race horse and I've been waking up with leg cramps. But I don't want it to severely mess up my weightloss.


    SO my main question is, what will totally mess up ketosis? will my trying my food in class really mess everything up?

    First goal: 265 (my weight six months ago.)
    Second goal: 240
    Third goal: 215 (high school weight)
    Fourth goal: 190 (weight i put on my id, lol)
    Fifth goal: 170 i don't think i've ever been that weight in my whole adult life.
    Final goal: 160 maybe 150.

    Other Goals:
    Drinking at least 100 ounces of water a day.
    Cut down tea consumption in half.
    Quit drinking coffee *met 09 28 09*

    "Cheating" will most certainly set you back. Sugar and flour are counter-productive to "doing Atkins". Any way you can have someone else taste for you?

    As to the leg cramps ... are you getting all your water? Are you eating all your vegetables? Leg cramps are generally a good indication that one isn't doing something right.

      Wow. Hang in there. It's a tough occupation for the Atkin's diet. Can you become a barbeque chef or something?

        @atkinsgal, i've been going over my veggie limit a bit. I LOVE BROCCOLI! But yeah, water! i know it's important, but i've never drank that much water or liquids period. i've been drinking a lot of decaf green tea though. i love tea. Also i need to be the one to try my food cuz it's part of the learning process. i think or something.

        @amazon, lol, i wish! i finished the cooking program already. but i love baking!

          potassium and magnesium supplements can help with the cramps in your legs.

              Not likely to be a problem.

              Tea doesn't count as water (Dr. Atkins said so). You must have a minimum of 64 ounces of pure plain water (Dr. Atkins said so).

              As long as you know that every taste sets you back, Atkins-wise.

                I hate to say it but Dr. A said that one bite is the kiss of death (it really says those exact words in the book) on this plan....you have to choose follow DANDR2002 or you are not doing Atkins....

                I know you feel that you are between a rock and a hard place but being on plan doesn't include trying your treats......
