I am a long time Atkineer and when I am following this WOE I always lose. The failure is usually me. I have managed to keep about 60 pounds off without regaining for 5 years but can't seem to go lower. From March to July 1 this year I was really focused and lost 17 additional pounds. 6 in Induction.
I was thrilled with that 6 because being hormonally challenged at this time of life, you fight for every pound. So why the warning? Well, don't expect miracles if you are premenopausal.
And, worse, if you go off this WOE you gain it back FAST. 18 weeks of work for 17 pounds and six weeks off and I have regained 10 of it and I wasn't gorging myself on carbs but I wasn't watching or exercising, either.
Now I am back in my 4th day of Induction and so far, I have been clean and have only dropped one pound. Serves me right I guess. SO, be patient and true and you will get to where you need to go. Stray and it bites you back, big time. Have patience and focus on doing it right and the rest will take care of itself.
