Re: 3 kids-30 extra pounds
hi and welcome.Originally posted by newmom26Hi, I'm a mother of a 4yr old, 3yr old, and a brand new baby. Baby weight- AGH!! I have about 30 pounds to lose from all three kids. I've been on induction for 3 days. Any advice.
My advice to all newbies is to read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition. It tells you how this diet works, what to eat, how much you can eat, what you can expect, etc.
My second bit of advice is to go see your physician for a check up before you begin this or any weight loss regimen.
My third bit of advice is to make copies of the Acceptable Foods list and the Rules of Induction. Put one copy on the frig, keep another copy with you when you go grocery shopping or eat out. That way, you'll never have to guess if something is appropriate for this diet or not.
My fourth bit of advice is to keep a food journal or (if you have the patience) open up a free account at fitday.com to track your carbs.
My fifth, sixth and seventh bits of advice are drink your water, exercise and take your vitamin supplements.
By the way, now is the time to begin training your children to adopt healthy eating and lifestyle habits so they won't have to "go on a diet" when they are older.

Welcome Newmum :wave
At least with those wee ones you will be getting lots of exercise keeping up with them!!
Congratulations on choosing this Way of Eating (WOE) and joining us on our journey to better health and trimmer figures.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Congratulations and welcome Newmum!
You won't look back I promise, this way of living will really help you.
I would just say in addition to what the other ladies have said, is that with your little one you are likely to be slighlty sleep deprived which makes you want to eat more, so be really prepared with legal snacks.
After I had my son, now 6 months, I was getting minimal sleep and really craved carbs all the time. If you steer clear of them now you will no longer crave them so much when you are shattered. The comedy is that the carbs you crave and eat will make your blood sugars unstable, which will exhaust you even more. If you stay within 20 carbs you will have heaps more energy after the first few days to enjoy your 3 babes. You will need to get your body in to fat burn modeover the next few days.
I assume that you will not be breast feeding, if so you should avoid doing induction just yet.
Enjoy and resist temptation, you'll see great results before you know it!
