at the last place you gained it, anyone heard this before? well I notice the heavier I get I always notice it in my face, i put my hand to the side of my face and kind of moved it around and thought hmmm that chin doesn't feel as big...I think I feel more of a jawline, so sometimes you might not notice it on your body right away as much, however a difference is showing!!

Re: they say that weigh first comes off...
I don't know about that (but I have heard it said)
When I started to lose weight I first notices it in my fingers. Suddenly my rings were sliding off easier. Strange stuff.

Re: they say that weigh first comes off...
I've heard that too...and it seems to apply to me.
Oddly enough, the first place I noticed weight loss was in my wrist (down 10-15lbs)...my watch kept sliding around. I've lost 70 and my rings still fit fine
... but I've always had short, stubby fat fingers...
Lately, I've noticed things (like bones!) I swear I've never seen before (on me...other people have them!!). There is a bone in my wrist! I have collarbones! My knees are not giant sausages with dimples (who knew?) I was never thin (or even close), but I did gain almost 100lbs after reaching my full height (if you can call 5'2" "height"
). I know I wear a way larger bra size then I did in high school/university...and my chest is one of the first places I lost a significant amount. My back seemed to collect fat over the last few years, and that is mostly gone now.
So yes, it does SEEM to come off first where it went on last.Julie__________________F/37/5'2"__________________Start April 15, 2009

Re: they say that weigh first comes off...
I've only lost 8 pounds, but people keep mentioning my face looking thinner. I gained my extra weight after pregnancy, c-section, followed by a heart condition, so my stomach seemed to hold it all after getting those muscles cut in surgery. I'm wearing a pair of jeans today that I haven't been able to fit into in years so I know my stomach is shrinking.

Re: they say that weigh first comes off...
I think of it as paint on a house. First you put on the initial coat, and then every decade or so someone puts on another coat... well dieting is like a sander, sanding off those coats one at a time... You're not going to get rid of that initial coat until all the others have been sanded off...
However, that's how FAT comes off, but that's not how we lose water weight...
If I were to gain 5 lbs of water weight right now, it would go straight to my face, neck and fingers... I would look and feel bloated, and when I lost the water that's where I would lose it first, (just like when I first started Atkins)
It took 30 lbs to go from a ring size 9 to a ring size 8, so I know fat is stored on our fingers, toes, face etc... I can't wait to fit into my wedding ring again...
Some people lose fat on their arms and legs first before hitting the hips, stomach, chest area... others lose the stomach first, it all depends on the order your specific body put it on... and since we don't usually grab for the tape measure when we are ballooning up, who knows which order we will lose it in?
