  • Lend me your wisdom!

    Hello everyone!

I have greatly enjoyed eavesdropping on your posts for weeks now, and you have convinced me to really do the diet! I've been doing a pre-induction warm up in the last week or two, testing out foods, and honestly I am already seeing progress (10 lbs/4.6kg in three weeks).

I've been browsing recipes and they all look great. Over the weekend or so I want draw up a very clear plan for every day, including snacks I can have at my desk when I inevitably get the 3pm nods.

I want to do induction right. I have three major challenges facing me. I am

    a) a pescatarian
No red meat, white meat, chicken. Eggs, dairy, fish and shellfish are fine.

    b) living in Japan
I don't have access to a lot of the packaged foods/supplements available in the States--even Splenda is hard to get, though I have found a sucralose product. However, I do have access to tons of yummy Japanese food...

    c) pretty darn busy at the office, where i can't cook
This means I need to find and plan ahead of time meals that will let me stay on plan, that I can make the night before and pack for lunch at work, etc. and that will survive a one-hour commute on a morning train.

So I would really appreciate any pescatarian-friendly homecookable foods, make from fresh ingredients (no protein powder, artificial sweenters, etc.)

Also, when I get my plan up and post it, it would be great if you people could help me proofread for foods that are not actually allowed on induction (or my going over my allowances. Yes cheese, I am talking about you).

Well, for now that's it. I hope I can learn from everyone here.

    As we say in Japan,

Congratulations for the 10 lbs lost! I hope you are aware that starting Induction now, after this "pre-Induction" you have been doing, might not be the same as if you had started directly on Induction. You are probably already in ketosis and have burned through some of your glycogen stores (this causes loss of water weight, which is one reason why people generally drop a lot of weight in the first week).

This should not be a challenge. I live in Germany. We also don't have Splenda here... and don't even get me started about Atkins bars and such --- we don't have those either. Real food --- veggies, meat, healthy fats, eggs, cheese, etc. --- is all you need to follow Atkins. Don't you have stevia sweeteners in Japan?
