I asked this yesterday but I can't seem to find out how to retrieve my messages, or possibly no one answered...Anyway I was low carbing between 20and 30 grams of carbs a day, and eating a few foods(nuts, cottage cheese) that are not on the induction...My body show to be in ketosis some days but not others(I test daily)....what would be the best way to start the atkins induction? Should I start straight from what I been doing...or should I eat normal for a day or two to throw my body out of ketosis and then start fresh? Which way will give me better weight loss...I am chossing this diet for the health benefits, but I am overweight, and would like the quickest weight loss method.

That won't work. Each search has an id, which expires once you close the window (or something like that). So if some link ends in "searchid=xxxxxx" and you share the link with someone, the link will be invalid.Originally posted by atkinsgal08 View Post

Then I hope that, by "diet", you mean "way of eating for life", not some diet from which you can go on and off.Originally posted by tracee43 View PostI am chossing this diet for the health benefits
The quickest is not necessarily the best.would like the quickest weight loss method."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Thinking about it... it's saved for a few minutes after the search is done, even if you close the window. I am sometimes able to recover my unsent replies this way... when my browser crashes. But it only works on the same computer. I don't understand how the IDs are saved...Originally posted by atkinsgal08When I clicked on the link as I posted it, it worked."Get action. Seize the moment. It's true you weren't doing Atkins Induction Phase. You were doing Atkins On-Going Weight Loss PhaseOriginally posted by tracee43 View PostI asked this yesterday but I can't seem to find out how to retrieve my messages, or possibly no one answered...Anyway I was low carbing between 20and 30 grams of carbs a day, and eating a few foods(nuts, cottage cheese) that are not on the induction
Doesn't matter what the ketostix say---they aren't 100% predictive of weight loss. Were you losing pounds/inches during this time? If you were losing pounds/inches, you were in ketosis....My body show to be in ketosis some days but not others(I test daily)
You need to get this "lose weight fast" approach out of your head, since you went on Atkins for the health benefits. This is going to be a long haul. Afterall, you didn't gain your weight overnight, so why do you expect to lose it over a shorter period of time?....what would be the best way to start the atkins induction? Should I start straight from what I been doing...or should I eat normal for a day or two to throw my body out of ketosis and then start fresh? The purpose of Induction is two-fold: to get your body into a fat-burning metabolism and to give you some control of your appetite. Since you have been limiting yourself to 20-30 grams of carbs daily, you are already in that fat burning metabolism and you won't get that initial fast weight loss you previously experienced.
But if you really want to go back and do Induction, just start it. No need to "eat normally" (whatever that truly means.) Then after you finish your Induction, move to ON-Going WEight Loss Phase.
