Welcome to you.Your goal is very achievable but it all depends on you and your willpower because if you stay focused and follow the diet staying cheat free you can achieve success. It took me a year to lose 100lbs so if I can do it so can you.You maybe have ups and downs I did too but always get back on plan. All the best.

ATKINS will cure your bread habit but be prepared the first three or four days you will be craving those carbs. Then ketosis will kick in, you will feel better and most folks get a boost of energy. Do read the book. It will explain everything and save you making costly mistakes.

Just to reinforce THE BOOK. I didn't read it prior to starting, and I regret that now. Currently I'm in a challenge to read the book and I'm learning so much more. Take the time, it is so worth it!

I too am 38 with three children. (Although my oldest is married now) How are you doing? Today is day 9 for me, I plan to stay on induction longer than 14 days. Hoping to add in some exercise soon. Just wanted to see how you were doing.

Gotta ask yourself every single time--Is this going to be worth how Ill feel tomorrow and worht tossing the work I already invested in this? Is it worth not ever getting to goal?

                        Re: New

Maybe you can tell yourself that you will get that pie, just not now. Tonight I really wanted a granola bar and peanut butter-foods I can have a lot later on-just NOT during Induction. I kept thinking it's okay go ahead, but then I thought, today is day 9 you can wait a little longer. So I got me a stalk of celery instead. Wasn't exactly what I wanted but it served the purpose of giving me something to munch on.

You really do have to get to a place that you refuse to give in. Just say no! Some days I picture the food as a glass of liquor, a cigarette, a drug and I say to myself-do you want to give in to THAT? Are you going to give into your addiction and let it control you? Or do you WANT change?!!

You have to remember, you CAN do this. If you have to try tossing the sweets. I know having 3 children makes this hard but I moved all the sweets to one cabinet and as they are eaten I stop replacing them and begin buying fruit and healthier choices for them. (They hate when I diet)

Write down in a journal or on a piece of construction paper in colored pens why you are doing this and what your goal is and hang it by your bed. If you are a Christian find a life verse to support you through this.

Like Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. or Deut 30:19 Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, that you and your descendants might live! (NLT)

{{{{{}}}}} Hang in there, you CAN do this!
