being busy is no problem for Atkineers

Buy yourself a Foreman grill and do meat ahead. pork chops, bacon, steak, fish. ham...etc. etc. etc. Whatever - on the grill they cook so fast! Then wrap them up and store them in the freezer or the fridge. Make some faux cauliflower rice to go with your meat. Add some mushrooms too.

Chop up raw veggies like jicama, radishes, turnips, celery, peppers - there are so many more - and do the tupperware thing. Choose your favorites off the approved foods list.

You can make mini-omelets in a muffin tin, and take one for breakfast each day. Very easy to do. Believe me, when people see you with your muffin-omelet, and they are stuck with a dumb donut for breakfast, they will envy you your smarts, and you will be glad you baked ahead.

Be sure to plan a snack.

Make yourself a mock danish the night before and take it with you so you won't be tempted by a silly sugary treat. A mock danish is so easy to make.

You are allowed some olives also, and they are a portable snack. Also, 1/2 an avacado.

      Be creative! Have fun!

Part of the healing process is learning to put yourself first and feed yourself well. I understand busy. I'm working in a motel right now and the demands are great. But eating healthy and sticking to Atkins still comes first.

Work your life around your Atkins, not your Atkins around your life and you will find tremendous success.

        Hi Alfie :wave
        Welcome to the board.

Most UK 'caffs' offer an 'all-day breakfast' or an omelet and allow substitution of food items within their 'set' menu so you could have some mushrooms instead of the usual hash browns and a tomato instead of the toast or fried slice.

At McDonalds or Burger King you could have the burger and bin the bun - watch the cheese though as sometimes it is 'cheese food' not real cheese.

Posher restaurants are always happy to let you specify just what you don't want - substitute a green veggie for the roast spuds or salad for the chips etc.

Make sure you have your 'acceptable foods list' with you to start with so you can make sure you are not eating any food that is not on the list! There is a wallet-sized card you can print out amongst the stickies at the beginning of this forum.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
