    >>i dont have to have 20 carbs right?>>

It's best to get as close to 20 net carbs as possible.

As to the food from Subway ... you might want to reconsider eating there. Very little meat there doesn't have additives.

So your meat wasn't really 0 carbs.

You need more food, in my opinion.

Great Subway link, J! I was so disappointed when I learned some time ago about all the junk in the Subway foods. Tons of soy and chemicals in their meats. And they advertise themselves as the healthy alternative in fast foods.

Rich, have you tried logging your foods into something like FitDay (or some other food tracker)? It can really help with accounting for your carbs as well as protein, fats, etc.

From looking at what you posted, I think your net carbs were higher than 8.9-10 carbs. Remember, mayo has carbs and the Subway steak meat definitely has carbs. I also wonder if you are getting enough fats. FitDay can help with that.

Your menu wasn't too bad but could use some tweaking or more accurate tracking to make sure you are getting the right combo and amounts of fats/protein/net carbs.

I would try not to go to Subway that often but maybe when you do, you could take advantage of all the veggies they have to offer and have more than lettuce as the base of your salad. Also with Subway, because of all the sodium in their meats, your weight loss may not be as good as it could be because of water retention.

It's a learning process coming up with good menus. You're off to a good start.

        Besides what was already said...

We often see how people who eat few net carbs on Induction end up stalling. What helps them is moving to OWL and adding more vegetables. So I agree that eating close to 20 net carbs, with over half of your net carbs coming from vegetables, is better. And it is not only about weight loss, but also about giving your body more nutrients.

all the carb counts im including are taken from the atkins book in the back.
You might want to use FitDay or the USDA database to search for certain foods, e.g. mayo.

If the label says zero, it might only mean that the carbs are below 0.5 g per serving.

Wow yeesh. The peanut butter cookie has 26 carbs. Not surprising right? Get this...the meatballs (amount you'd get in a 6IN sub or salad) have 25 carbs. Is there any actual meat in those or are the all binder? Good grief.
