Gilly, hang in there. Your body is going through carb/sugar withdrawal. Something that really helped me is taking L-Glutamine. I take 2000mg a day. It really works! :yes
Do everything you can to ignore the cravings. They do go away. Drink more water when the cravings come. Check out the recipe board for some legal sweet treats.

They do go away if you can manage not to give in to the cravings.
You are doing so well this time - keep it going :joyWondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: my cravings are still bad!
They fade with time. But I won't lie to you that you might be tempted along the way. I've been having some cravings for very unfriendly food. However, I've learned how to combat those cravings. You will too.Originally posted by gillybabyhi everyone just wanted to know is it normal that im still dreaming and wishing i could eat, french fries and cookies and cakes.I cant stop thinking about them still.I have been cheat free for 9 days and i feel good and lost 6lbs so far...but i guess im still really missing my sugar fix and my carbs. Will these fade in time, as otherwise i think it will be evern harder than i thought. :hug

My local health store selling Atkins products recommended taking chromium tablets. I take one before each main meal and I found my cravings were easier to manage. Also, I increased my fat/oils% a little and found that also made me more satiated30yo F 5'5 (166cm)

Gilly, You can do this. Just stay cheatfree and those cravings will eventually subside.
It's all the way you look at it. Your mindset is so important. I look at the white flour, the sugar, and other bad carbs as the enemy. After all they are what kept me fat and miserable. They are what ruled my thoughts of eating all the dang time. After I gave them up, and some time passed, I now rule my food instead of it ruling me.
Gilly, I know you can do this. If I can, anyone can.!!! :hug

too beautiful to be enslaved
Stick with it Gilly. When has caving into temptation ever brought you anything but sorrow?
Soon you will be posting pics of your body undergoing a divine metamorphis. Soon, your health and happiness will be so important to you, you won't desire the foods that had kept you in a carb cage.
The longer you stick, the easier it will be. :joy

If I get cravings, I just go for some "legal" food to combat it. This is what Dr. Atkins says to do in the book. I forget exactly how he explained it, but he had a physiological explanation for why this would not only keep you full, but kill your craving. I've been wanting a Chocolate Mousse cake since day one, but when I really start wanting one, I just go cook myself some eggs or bacon or meat or whatever. I'm on day 5, and this diet has been pretty easy so far.
One thing... have you cut out caffeine? He says that caffeine can cause cravings. That might be your problem.I'm 26 years old, and I lost weight on this plan in 2005. I'm getting married in August and thought this would be the way to go after making little progress on other diets. I've got 20 lbs to lose for the big day!
