  • Allergic to Eggs!

    Hello everyone!
I'm new to the site and am planning on starting my Induction today! I need some help though.
I am allergic to eggs! Well, more specifically, I'm allergic to eggs on there own, meaning I cannot eat scrambled eggs, omelettes, hard-boiled eggs, etc. But I can eat things that have eggs cooked into them. It's weird, I know, but I just cannot digest eggs on there own.

What are some things that I may be able to make myself for breakfast? Are egg substitutes ok?

Also, I snack a lot during the day and often do not have a solid lunch routine. What are some induction friendly snacks to carry around with me? Usually I have cucumber's or red peppers with me (other than non-induction friendly items )

I feel totally lost in this process. I understand the acceptable foods, Ketosis, and the Atkins process, but when it comes to meals I feel to lost.

Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated!

    Have a nice day

Head to Linda's site for inspiration. Bottom line is you need to make an effort and plan and do things ahead. It is the only way to succeed on the go.

You can definitely follow Atkins without eating any boiled eggs, omelettes and the like. Basically, any food that is on the Acceptable Foods List is okay for breakfast. I've seen people starting their day with steak.

You can have some meats and left overs for break fast - it is really good stuff. For really quick things you may want to try some protein isolate powder and add some cream for the fat.
I also suggest that you think about this habit of snacking. Constantly eating may be one of your issues. Oral dependency that food is substituting for (a bit Freudian but..) So try to think meals that are proper and have the right thing in them. Drink water when you feel like you need to eat. (This is one the ways that I have tried to curb my snacking habit - my snacking habit was one the reasons I became obese)

Hi! Thanks for the advice! I like the meat left over thing, although I'm not a big breakfast person, so I guess I'll have to change that. This morning I had some roast chicken breast and water. And to be honest, I'm fine right now.
About the snacking, ...well it's not that it's a habit by any means, it's just that I don't have a solid lunch routine because of my work, so whatever snacks I have i use as my meal for the day. But I understand that that too I have to change.
          Thank you for the advice!
