I am starting Atkin's today. This is the first time in years that I am going to do this. I was going to start on Nov 1st but went to the doctor and weighed in 407lbs. The last time I weigh myself I was 393 and I was like 375 2 months ago. I have had enough. My blood pressure is through the roof which usually it's not and my GERD is acting up. I cant function like I use to. Well today is it. I have done it before and had success and I will do it again. I will do it now before I spend another day looknig and feeling as I do. I need friends and support. I am here bearing it all to you so that I can meet people that understand.

Re: Starting Today
The book we follow here at ADBB is Dr.Atkins New Diet Revolution that was published in 2002. There were some changes in the editions. All advice here is based on that book.
Good luck to you.
Check out the Century club and their roll call. Maybe a place you'd like to hang out.
Welcome. Nice to have you here.

Re: Starting Today
Welcome LUV!!!!
You've come to the right place! The people here really are wonderful. There are so many different ways to get support. Definitely check out the Century Club, they are very sweet people. Also, there are various challenges you can join like water challenges, walking challenges, etc. Also, you can blog here and the people who also blog and comment are VERY encouraging and sweet. It is a helpful way to see how you progress, how you feel, and to get things off your chest and get advice.
My best piece of advice is to expect the bad days. You will have them. You will fall off the wagon at least once on your journey. Simply plan on it happening and when it does force yourself to stop at THAT MEAL. Don't allow yourself to do the ever popular "well, I'll start over tomorrow" or "I'll start back on Induction on Monday and pig out this weekend". If you have that donut this morning you should be having salad and eggs for lunch. The longer you wait to jump on that wagon again the further you have to run to catch up with it
But you will have enormous support here, Luv, from people who have gone through what you are going through and know how best to support you

Congratulations LUV on your wise choice to start immediately. You will read alot of great advice, and I must say, the advice you got from Bellajgw aka Jacqui, advice was spot on.
