  • Chia Seeds

    I sprinkled 1 Tbsp of chia seeds on my omlette this morning.....they have zero net carbs (5 carbs and 5 grams fiber). I hope these are ok!?? Anyone else use them? They are nutrient dense, have Omega 3s....I have read that they are better than flax seeds.

    So seeds are strictly a rung 3 addition.
    Atkins does suggest adding a bit of bran or flax for fibre or for constipation on induction if needed. Personally I think chia when used for those purposes would be fine.

    Also there would be a bit of carb in it even though the label may round it to zero
    For one oz (weight) of dried seeds the US data base lists 12.43 carbs and 10.7 fiber
