  • Rejoicing!

I've had a few posts where I was concerned about my diabetes. Turns out I was worried for nothing. Found out the result of my blood test today.

    HgB A1c (Diabetes Test)

    Before Atkins:
    08-30-04 10.3%

    After starting Atkins:
    04-06-05: 6.5%

Atkins naysayers, you can kiss my ever decreasing booty-butt!!

My doctor was stunned. She advised me that she does not feel that I need to stay on meds. She thinks I can control the Type II diabetes with Atkins and exercise. She will check my blood again in
    three months.

She also told me I'm the 3rd Type II diabetic she knows who
managed to get stable on Atkins. She said, whatever you
    are doing, keep doing it!

Thank you Dr Atkins, wherever you are.

Isn't it wonderful how this WOE gives us our good health back? Dr. A. had the correct answers and I am sure glad I he did. Thanks Dr. Atkins.

Thats such great news, what motivation that must give you :yes !

My beautiful cat has just been diagnosed with diabetes, he’s slim and lean and only 7 years old – I can’t understand it, now he's on 2 jabs of insulin a day and on a high protein diet he is slowly stablising. I had assumed that he was always on high protein but the non meat fillers in cat food are a problem. I really hope that he too is as lucky as you :yes.

That is excellent. I had tried to speak to my diabetic step mother about Atkins. We went on a trip about a month ago and she was popping candy in her mouth instead of eating regular meals. I told her that she could probably get off of the meds and lose weight if she tried Atkins. We'll see. My dad seems interested at least.
I am so happy that you chose this WOE for yourself and were able to get your diabetes under control. :hug
