  • Nothing happen in 10 days :-(

I started the diet on 20/10,but I lost zero pound in 10 days :-(
I wonder is it becuz I ate too much homemade low carb bread(I found the recipe online),I do limit the carb intake in 20g,though I made a HUGE mistake yesterday,I ate 10 sugarfree mentos, assuming that they have 0 carbs, endup find out it contais 2.5g each.........:-((((((((((((
So I restart my diet again,I count today is Day 1,but still in the first 8 days I did follow the rules strictly.I'm very upset of myself

Low-carb bread is not allowed on Induction. Did you check to see if all the ingredients on the Acceptable Foods List: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html?

It is not only about limiting your net carbs to 20 g. What foods you eat is important as well.

though I made a HUGE mistake yesterday,I ate 10 sugarfree mentos, assuming that they have 0 carbs
Even if they had 0 carbs, you still could not have eaten 10, because sweeteners are limited to 3 per day.

But Mentos don't bring anything good to your diet. They only keep your sweet tooth alive. This is good and generous for your sweet tooth, but terribly bad for you in the long term.

but still in the first 8 days I did follow the rules strictly.
Are you sure? Do you own a copy of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)? Did you read the book?

      Sorry to hear that.
If you want to do Atkins (and Atkins is great) you need to follow the rules to a T. So make sure you figure out what you can eat and eat ONLY that. Not all carbs are equal. It is not about limited them only we have to learn which ones are good to eat and which ones we may not be able to eat. So only (for the most part) veggie carbs the first 14 days.

Here are some threads in our FAQ that will help you.

Because it is a wrong menu.

During Induction, it is important to follow the Acceptable Foods List. If it's not on the list, you shouldn't eat it.

Also, what kind of dressing or seasoning u guys always use?
I'm not using any fancy salad dressings. Usually it's just olive oil and vinegar, or olive oil, lemon juice and herbs.

can anyone teach me how to make the food more tasty but not just plain meat and fish?

Wonder where that menu you posted was from. Looked to be several mistakes in it. We have to be careful with induction. Just eat what is legal. Follow the book. Drink plenty of clean water.

Linda's recipe page is great. Also check out this thread with induction recipes.

liv, It was from aboutatkinsdiet.com. It is a commerical Atkins site.
Apparently they need to do some homework. They offer recipes for everything from chocolate cakes to black bean soup in Induction.

buddymama, No wonder you aren't losing. They are advising lots of things that would not have been approved by Dr. A.
Go by the book. You will have MUCH better results.
