  • Over the Induction Flu... and WOW

The energy is just incredible! And, I am actually going to sleep at a normal time and waking up without hitting the snooze button 4 or 5 times. But the best part...

I bought a 6 pack of sugar free, zero carb jello gelatin. I had eaten one on day 1.. and pack one in my lunch just in case. Well today, the entire class was munching on donuts and candies, so I opened up my jello to avoid looking at the temptation.... two bites and I threw it away. It was just too sweet. My sweet tooth is dying already!!

4 days in and I'm down 5lbs. I know thats the water weight... but its still incredible to me.

The only real concern I have at this point is my percentages. According to FitDay, today for example my percentages are 58fat, 4 carb, and 38 protein. Is this ok? There are some things that would normally be more fattening that arent for me, as I don't eat pork, so I have turkey bacon, turkey sausage, etc. Is my fat being a little low going to affect me? If so, how can I add more fat without adding carbs?

When I need to bump up the fat, I use more butter, salad dressing and mayo. Of course, you're going to have some carbs there but not many. Get your percentages as close as you can but there are lots of way to bump up the fat and there are a ton of threads on here about it.

I still have ketosis related (um, Atkins related) sleeping issues. I just don't need much even though my body probably craves more down time. I can't even sleep until the time I got up when I first started. I'm up at 4-4:30 am. I'm not really happy about that but I've discovered FaceBook and that gives me an outlet!! You will adjust and as you get closer to goal, you'll be eating more carbs, hopefully exercising almost daily and sleeping more.
