  • ok, stupid chips-day 1 again...

    ok,

    so after my near nervous beak down lastnight i realized that i went from a low fat and low carb diet over the last 2 weeks which resulted in a 10# WL, to the atkins induction way too fast!! I just wasnt mentally ready for it even though i thought i was.
    so, today is day one of my induction..i am ready, i have a game plan..going out after work to buy fatty foods...i had BACON for breakfast on saturday..sweeeeet bacon only 3 pieces, but it was glorious!!! im on chapter 8 of the book. found a new buddy on this site so im looking forward to the real induction now that i have the ketchup chip craving out of my system. i had eaten a couple of mock danish over the weekend trying to curb the sweet tooth because of TOM creeping up on me, but i realize I can't do that. I've got a new buddy on this board who is the same weight, so we can challenge eachother, and do this together!! looking forward to getting to know her. so...day one...here i come!!!!

    It is an adjustment for many of us and there are some bumps along the way but we manage.
    Great that you found a buddy. And super good luck. Let us know how it goes.

        i am aware that chapter 11 is induction..i've read chapter 11..but dr. atkins says to read the entire book to get the most benefit.

            Tracy, in DANDR 1992, the Induction chapter is Chapter 8 (I believe). So maybe J. only wanted to make sure you are reading the 2002 edition, not the 1992 one?

              i have the book titled "Dr. atkins' NEW diet revolution", inside cover says january 2002..assuming this is the correct book.

              i havent checked out the veggie challenge... i just joined the wii fit challenge!! i'll check out the veggie challenge now.

                  i did the wii fit tonight for 52 minutes stuck to plan today. i just ate a huge steak with onions and mushrooms...and cauliflower for dinner..YUMMMMMm..... i drank well beyond what i am supposed to . Im just waiting for my ingredients to come to room temperature so i can make the atkins low carb mayo. it was a good day. i am extremely proud of myself

                          i just did up some eggs, and added extra egg whites to the mixture. added onions, broccoli and a pepper...poured the mixture into 6 oversized muffin tins, and added a strip of bacon and 1/2 ounce of cheddar cheese with 0 carbs to each..viola...breakfast for the next 6 mornings!! yumm..

                            The carb count for the store-bought mayo and the homemade one is pretty much the same. Mayo is (should be) naturally low carb.

                            I make my own mayo too. I only use the store-bought kind in recipes, where it "behaves" better.

                            Why do you need to make mayonnaise?
                            I don't know why Tracy chose to make mayo instead of using the store-bought kind (I think this is the question)... but I prefer homemade mayo mainly because of its taste.
