  • Why is margarine a no-no?

Just curious... I'm out of butter tonight, and my fat content isn't high enough for the day, and I was going to put margarine on my green beans tonight for supper... but everything I've seen says NO MARGARINE.

Why is this? It's 100% fat, right? Zero carbs?

By the way your title spells margarine wrong.
It is a no no because it does have carbs read the nutritional info at the back and compare it to butter and you'll get what I mean.

It's not always about the carbs ... it's about the ingredients.

        Many margarines have trans fats.

What one do you have and what are the ingredients?

That wouldn't be something I'd want to eat.

I'd wait until I could get some butter. Put some olive oil on your green beans.

Never thought of that, thank you! I do have some olive oil in the pantry, I'll use it instead.

Many thanks! I can go cook now

Besides tasting terrible, margarine has trans fats.

Yep, the same margarine that the FDA told everyone was better than butter

From what I've heard, palm oil can mess up people's clotting factors but I'm no expert.

I'll definitely be picking up some butter tomorrow.

Green beans and pork chops for Induction dinner tonight. Yummy!
