  • SHOCKED! Been there and done that, but never like this!

I am back on induction and having been here before knew kind of what to expect during the first week. I am starting out at a lower weight than before and figured even with factoring water weight as a majority of the weight loss in the first week, I might lose as much as 10 pounds.

Normally, I don't weigh but once a week, but decided just 3 days into being back on program to sneak a peek at the scale. I was shocked. I had to weigh three times just to make sure. Down from 280 lbs to 269 lbs in three days!!! I realize those 11 lbs. included a bunch of water weight, but still !!!

What a boost!!! Still I am experienced enough to know that weight goes up and down and that this is for the long haul. Just happy that my first steps in this journey have gone so well.

im new to this too, but i think it's got something to do with what you were eating before you started induction..like it takes less time to get the garbage foods out of your system if you didnt have them there in the first place.

WOOT!! That is fantastic! Who cares if it IS a lot of water? That's a lot of water you're not hauling around anymore!

It's not all water though, don't forget that

      Congrats to you!

        A great (re)start, Don

        Keep up the good work!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: SHOCKED! Been there and done that, but never like this!

Thanks all! I appreciate the support. I was feeling pretty bad about myself and this was just the boost I needed! I thought I might have been overly optimistic about my hopes of losing 15 lbs during induction. Seems pretty doable now.

Tracy, I think everybody reacts differently. Lord knows that I had plenty of junk leading up to my getting back. In fact, it was probably all the junk that I had and feeling miserable, that finally gave me the wake up call!!! But, boy the headaches of sugar withdrawal starting back!!! Whoeeee! Just glad they only lasted the first couple of days!

Yes, those headaches are a killer to be sure! Mine are just starting to ease a little, although by night time they're back in full force. Just keep remembering what you are, and they won't last forever

What a terrific restart you're having!
