  • 5 days in, still craving sugar!

    This is driving me crazy.

I thought by 5 days in, I would stop craving sugar. It's getting worse, not better.

When will it go away? And when will the appetite suppression kick in??

what are you eating on a daily basis? you might be keeping the craving alive by having too many sweetners.

For some people, the cravings never go away ... battling the dragons is an ongoing battle.

I don't think that 5 days is enough time for either the cravings to go away or for the appetite suppressant to kick in.

Re: 5 days in, still craving sugar!

When I first started Atkins in January I continued to use sweetners and cream in my decaf in the morning....I never killed the sugar beast and it continued to follow and nag at me until just a few weeks ago. I was very ill and couldn't eat much of anything, I managed to start drinking black coffee and made sure I didn't have anything sweet during that time....I FINALLY killed the beast. I hope you can do the same -- once you cut the sweets out of your day the cravings will stop.

          This makes me sad

The last time I was on, I drank Diet Coke, and it never bothered me. I stopped wanting sugar very quickly.

This time... it's kicking my aft all over the place. I guess <sniffle> it's time to say goodbye to my own personal Nectar of the Gods.

              >>The last time I was on,>>

Another reason not to compare "last time" with "now" ... and another reason to do Atkins "for life"!

Maybe its a trigger? for me I crave sweets when I am really stressed. The last couple of days have been very stressful for me and oh boy did I want to eat every single piece of my kids halloween candy! but I didn't, Instead I told myself if you do this you negate all the work you have done up until now! and then I would go workout, cuz that helps me to relax and not stress so much.
