this is something you really really need to decide foryourself based on your needs and wants. take the quiz in chapter 13 and answer those questions based on them you will know when it it time to move to OWl and can stay on a longer induction if you want to. remember it is the folk that work all 4 phases that are the sucessful keep the weight off folk according to Dr Atkins.
congrats on your sucess so far

IMHO if you still have 80lbs to lose I would stay on induction till your about 20lbs from goal so that it says coming off fairly quick but htats just my opinion, i started in sept and here it is 7 1/2 months later and im down 80lbs and im still doing the extended induction- i plan to stay on it till im close to goal..good luck with what YOU decide cuz like 2 big said it has to be YOUR desicion.ORIGINALLY STARTED:

Take a look at the stickie above called "DAY 15: Should I stay or should I go (to OWL)".
As 2Big said, it's an individual decision. I stayed on Induction for 4 months and moved to OWL due to a week-long job related seminar (I knew it would be next to impossible to continue Induction but OWL would be do-able). I never regretted my move into OWL---most people don't once they realize they can eat more kinds of food and still lose weight.
So read the stickie. And make up your mind.

I stayed on Induction for about five months, and being a veggie lover, I was really ready to add some more in. I stayed there for quite some time before adding other things in. I think you can feel when you are ready, so just keep in mind that you are not required to stay in any phase for a specific amount of time, and move on as you feel comfortable doing so.

Being an extended Inductee for one year, I agree it is a personal decision. The main deciding point IMO should be are you satisfied with your Induction diet as you are eating it today. Are you craving foods from off the list? Are you liable to cheat if the monotony gets too much? It is much better to add the foods back into your diet via the rungs than willy-nilly when a craving hits you. I preferred the Induction menu and did well. There are certainly many other fine examples of OWL'ers who lost the weight as well. You really have to know your own tastes to answer the question.Kent - 35-M-6'4"
