Yesterday I completed the induction phase with a weight loss of 23 pounds. Overall, I felt great throughout the entire phase--no hunger pangs, lots of energy, slept better, feel better, etc. I did have minor headaches during day 2 and 3, most likely associated with caffeine withdrawal from my diet coke addiction. On Saturday I had a fasting blood panel completed and were numbers are:
Total Cholesterol: 151 (down 9 points from April 2009)
HDL (Good): 46 (Up 5 points from April 2009)
LDL (Bad): 93 (Up 20 points from April 2009)
Triglycerides: 60 (Down 35 points from April 2009)
Everything within normal limits. My doctor said the LDL climb is likely associated to the Atkins program; however, he said the numbers will only get better over the next 6 months. He fully supports the Atkins program, only stressing that as I approach my normal body weight I need to determine my critical carb limit--basically he termed it as my "delicate mix."
I am going to continue eating as I have for the past two weeks. My body is responding well and I feel completely satiated and satisfied at all times.
Thanks for listening. This website is a tremndous help.
