  • Day 5 on Induction and feeling a little dizzy.

I'm on my 5th day into this and I sometimes feel a little dizzy. It does not last but a second. Is this normal? It's kinda hard too eat too as I dhave not been feeling very hungry the last two days. However I DO crave something sweet but I refuse to go there. I'm done with sweets. Maybe that's what's bothering me. As soon as I eat a carb or two i do start feeling better. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

How much are you eating (in calories)? How many net carbs? You might want to post a complete menu (with quantities and net carbs) and we can take a look.

How much water are you drinking?

Appetite suppression is one of the "side effects" of ketosis. If you are not hungry for a "regular" meal, have a smaller one / snack instead. And make sure you eat regularly... at least every 6 hours.

      Yesterday
2 eggs for breakfast cooked in olive oil. Cheese stick for snack. Chicken breast with parmesan cheese for lunch. 1 Atkins drink for snack. Chicken and 1 cup green beans for supper. I drink tons of water.

      Today
Basically the same except supper was a 6 ounce steak with 1 cup of zucchini. I have not been counting my calories though. Maybe I'm not getting enough? I'll have to keep up with that.

You are not eating enough vegetables. The point is not to eat as few carbs as possible. It doesn't necessarily help with weight loss, and it's not good for your health either.

In my opinion, one should try to eat close to 20 net carbs (without going over), with over half of these net carbs coming from vegetables.

        Again not enough vegetables.

What do you use to count your net carbs?

It definitely seems that way! Dizziness can be a symptom of low blood sugar.

Thanks for the great advice. I started eating more veggies without going over the 20 carb limit and I feel so much better! No more dizzy spells.
