Me??.... Eat Celery??? Yeah, Right!

  • Me??.... Eat Celery??? Yeah, Right!

    And...give up my diet pepsi for water? What?? And give up my chips and chocolate?? Crazy!

    A week ago, this would've been my reaction but today, I'm munching celery with vigor and drinking crazy amounts of water and no snacking on chips or chocolate. In fact, I don't even WANT those things!

    I haven't stepped on the scale yet, but I'm so thrilled with these changes already!

    And best of all....NO IBS!!!

    I was using FitDay to calculate my carbs and I noticed that I'm actually consuming fewer calories than I was on low fat diets and I feel full and satisfied during the day. No headaches, no hunger pangs, no lightheadedness. Amazing!

    Good for you! keep up that motivation...it is amazing how we can do the things we thought were impossible with the proper tools!

      Great that you feel so good (and satisfied) on Atkins, Sims! I'm sure you'll find the programme works really well for you.

        Good to see you're working things out emotionally as well as physically. It all starts in the head anyway. Hang in there!

          I am in the same boat as you. I had food allergies I need to stay away from and found this WOE as being the best way to go. I joined this forum Nov 6 and Started Induction Nov 9. Since I have been on induction I no longer have cravings for carb-loaded foods. I sit very close to my co-workers and they all bring in their lunches and I don't even smell them.

          I did the Veggie Challenge last week which helped me out tremendously... I now eat an Induction friendly veggie with every meal (what a difference this makes), eating at least 12 NC of veggies during induction and not going past 20 total NC a day.

          Sorry, got off track ... Celery! I have 1/2 c Celery with my breakfast and a 1/2 c Celery with my mid-afternoon snack.

            those 'low fat' diets....they do not fill you up, no matter what your eating, its just something bout this WOE that is like a natural hunger suppressor, and I love it!

            its so awesome your eating less calories than low fat and ur not even hungry...Dr. Atkins def did something right when he formulated this WOE

              I am a guy and not many of us like eating rabbit food!!
              I used to look on salad of all types with utter contempt, but now lettuce, tomato and cucumber are my best buddies
              I never thought I'd see the day when I actually look forward to my salad at lunch!!!

                It is amazing how tastes change so fast on this diet. I can look at a piece of cake and not even want it anymore. What I crave is sweet red peppers. Yum!
