  • Few Questions - Started Monday

I have a few questions, if you can give me your feedback. I have the New Revolution book. Read it through, and re-reading it again now - and I have the food list....
but was surpised to not see green/string beans on the list.

And a question regarding cool whip - is the sugar free acceptable?

Also - ricotta cheese.... i have some recipes that call for ricotta, but wasn't positive on that type of cheese.

    Thanks for your help.
I do feel great after these 2 1/2 days.

You are talking about the list in the book I presume
String beans are called wax beans on the list
Cool whip is not acceptable because it contains sugars and other chemical crap - real cream is acceptable but limited
Ricotta is not allowed till rung 2

    I hope that helps

In my 2002 Avon version of DANDR, string beans (referred to as string or wax beans) is found in both Other vegetables column and in the sample Induction menu, so it would be a 1 cup per day vegetable.

Cool whip - in either case full fledged or SF; if you check the ingredients, you'll find loads of stuff that aren't acceptable foods list. Why start the diet at a disadvantage? I was surprised how simple making mine own was, and I could sweetened as much or little as I needed. (Remember to count anything sweetened against your daily sweetener allotment.)

Ricotta cheese is a soft cheese, and a hold out for the dairy rung.

Remember Induction only needs to last 14 days, and is all about setting yourself up and the stage for future success.

Hi Trixie, I wante to add a bit about Cool Whip because it really illustrates why "sugar free" does not means "safe to eat" and the importance of lookign at the nutrition labels and ingredient list. Something I learned the heard way, believe me!

The regular version lists 2g carbs (1g sugar) for 2 tables spoons.

The sugar free version lists 3g carbs (0g sugar) for 2 table spoons. I've listed the ingredients below:

        Here are the ingredients:
WATER, CORN SYRUP*, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, XANTHAN AND GUAR GUMS, POLYSORBATE 60, SORBITAN MONOSTEARATE, SODIUM POLYPHOSPHATES, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM AND ASPARTAME* (SWEETENERS), BETA CAROTENE (COLOR). *ADDS A TRIVIAL AMOUNT OF SUGAR. **PHENYLKETONURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE

As Liv said, real cream is acceptable. Just whip the heck out of it and add some sort of legal sweetener if you need to and there you go.

that was one of my big mistakes in my past attempts I would freeze the carton and eat spoonfuls throughout the day cuz I thought it was 'acceptable' lol then I wondered why I was stalled lol
