  • Day 14, deciding what to do...

I had a dream last night that I cheated, (with a cream bun of all things ) man was I upset with myself....then I woke up and felt brilliant because I had not

I am trying to decide if I should stay on the induction phase for a while longer as I still have so much to loose, any thoughts?

Yaaaay on your loss. In the book, it dates if you are over 100lbs overweight, doesn't hurt to stay on induction. I'm over 100lbs overweight and on extended induction.

There is no reason to stay on induction. You lost 11 pounds on induction and you will continue to lose on OWL. Weight lose is by fits and starts and this diet is less frustrating if you go ahead and go up the OWL ladder.

Amen!! Well said. While extending induction won't hurt your body...neither will OWL and by not OWLing you're missing out on a whole new world. This isn't my first time around with Atkins. I have seen it a million times. Many people lose and lose more with a little more carbs and lots more variety. The further up the ladder you climb, the better it gets, my friend!! DO NOT FEAR THE CARBS!!!!! Okay, I'm biased. I now view Induction as punishment for slipping. Truly, the options in the OWL rungs are endless. Your body needs a shake up now and then for what you fuel it with. Most people do hit a wall where there's little weightloss for a short period of time. It's easier to hang onto the ladder with more options. It just is. Don't count OWL out. Think about it!!

            Good for you, Gnimpish!

It can't hurt to move up to OWL 1 - adding 5 net carb of Induction veggies has absolutely NO downside. You'll add another source of needed vitamins and minerals to your diet, and you'll have that much more variety in your diet to avoid boredom.

              Hey there,

Thanks for all the replies, I came down with flu yesterday so I'm not feeling too good.
Have stuck to my eating though and insisted on meds with no sugar.
I just hope the antibiotics don't mess up the ketosis, any ideas?

I will move on to OWL as soon as I feel a bit better, didn't drink enough water today and I can't go for my walk so I'm feeling a bit frustrated.
              But he who perseveres wins!!

You have to take your antibiotics anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Focus on getting well.
