  • Just threw out the cream cheese :(

Tomorrow will be the end of week 2 of induction for me. Week 1 was great, I lost a total of 8.5 lbs. Week 2, not so great. The scale has been fluctuating all over the place, up a pound, down half a pound, up 3 pounds. The only thing I did differently this week was to start eating cream cheese. I have been reading in several places that cream cheese stalls weight loss in many people, even if they only eat 3 ounces a day.

So, I just threw what I had left into the garbage. I do feel that I've lost inches this week, but I'm not happy with the scale going bonkers.

    Weight fluctuations are normal.

They are certainly more common than people who are stalled by cream cheese.

As long as you are losing inches, you are losing fat. That's what matters. The scale doesn't weigh only fat.

The scale does that. If it drives you bonkers...don't weigh more than once a week Don't give up on cream cheese entirely - it is very useful in recipes. Try adding it back in a couple weeks & see how it goes.

Yes, I know the cream cheese is delicous. I made some mock pumpkin cheesecake with 3oz. cream cheese and 1/2 cup pumpkin, and it was wonderful, but I need to find out if it is the culprit in my lack of weight loss this week.

Trust me, if I knew it wasn't causing issues, I'd totally keep eating it, LOL.

I was thinking Linda's spinach lasagne...but cheesecake works too.

Week 2 is like that for a lot of people. Just relax. This diet isn't so precise that you can test a food in one week. Lots of people get into trouble because they try to tweek the diet too much. The things that you need to make this diet work are patience and preserverance. Follow the book, kick back and relax and enjoy the journey.

I agree with Arctic. Maybe part of the problem right now is the fact that you body is still making some major adjustments too. Put the stuff on hold for now, and a few weeks in, when your body settles into a pattern you may want to give it another try.

A lot of people slow down the second week, it's normal. But if you don't feel like wasting precious weight-loss time figuring it out, than I would have ditched it too.
Remeber, you can always try it some other time..cream cheese will always be there.
I know how you feel though- I miss my weight watchers cream cheese

That's better than "real" cream cheese?

Good point....about the cream cheese. I wouldn't know. Never in my 17 years have I had cream cheese until I was on Weight Watchers. And no it's not a race...I was implying that we want to reach our own personal goal before bikini season....aka...why waste time...i think that's what I meant.

                    Geez, you find me everywhere!

Okay. Tomorrow, atkinsgal, I'm going to tell you if I screwed up or not because I want you to tell me that I suck and I need to learn to face consequences or not, and that way...I wont screw up because I hate disappointing people. Okay? Okay.

Is that low fat? (I'm clueless about WW.)

Full fat tastes much better, imo!
