  • Any light dieter here?

I wonder if it is becuz I'm not overweight that's why I gain weight from doing Atkins????

    I'm 27,5'2,when I started Induction 3 weeks ago I was 102lbs,now I'm 107lbs.
I did follow the rules 100%,I lost 2 lbs on the day 4,but then, not so sure is it related with PMS or not,I gained 7lbs in 3 weeks, but my period is missing.

I'm an drama actress,I need to lose weight for an important role,my original goal is 7lbs,down from 102 to 95lbs,but not I guess I need to lose 10-12lbs.

I'm Asian, and I dont have muscle,so my body weight is pretty much from fat ,pls dont think I'm too skinny or insane,I'm definitely not, somehow i think asian BMI is slightly lighter than caucasian,I need to lose weight for my career anyway,I just dont understand why other average weight people still can lose by doing Atkins but not me.

I'm so bloated,I think i have water retention,i thought my period would have come 2 weeks ago,but i'm still waiting(i'm single, definitely not pregnant)

    Anyone has the same experience?
Casting on Dec 18th,I need to be look like a woman with HIV(the role in a big drama),anyone can help?

Well, many people think they are doing a clean Atkins Induction and then when they post their menus we find out they have been not drinking water, not eating veggies, using Atkins bars and sweeteners and a lot of other things that have negated their progress. So, if you can post a typical day's menu and tell us what you have been eating and drinking, and the quantities, maybe we can determine what is holding you up.

    HW 298
    HW (this time) 248
    GOAL ONE 228
    (take 2)
    GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
    GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
    FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

In order to lose the required amount of weight for the present day scenes, Matt Damon went on a strict regimen of food deprivation and physical training. This caused his health to become so frail that he was put on medical supervision for several months after the shoot. Be careful!

My period is missing and I'm on day 11th of induction,I lost nothing and gained 7lbs ,I've feel bloated for 2 weeks ,but my period has not come yet.
I actually started induction on 20/10,but i screwed up and restarted on 18/11,I really stick on the rules, but ketosis not happened on me till 2 days ago,it is on and off,I cant see myself in the process of ketosis everyday.
I dunno what to do,all my effort juts gave me extra pounds.maybe this diet just not works on me,maybe i have to take diet pill to control my appetite and do low calorie/low fat diet instead for the rest of my life.

Buddymama, how tall are you and what are your start/current/goal weights?
As you have probably realised by looking at the many threads around ADBB mentioning that pesky 'time of the month' a lot of members find their body reacts to being on induction around then by gaining 'water weight'.

Also they often experience a change in their monthly cycle too, so you and Yoshicko are not alone in this. Really all you can do is continue eating to plan and in time your body will no doubt co-operate.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Grrr Just spent 10 minutes composing a response only to lose internet connection and lose it all

I'll try and remember what I wrote and say it again.

One problem with eating Atkins-style is that unlike many diets out there it does not put your body into a state of deprivation. On the contrary, it means you are giving your body much more nutritional goodness than even the 'standard' diet recommended by government and health bodies.

If I was given a pound (sterling) for every post I have read across the lowcarb boards I visit from people who have found that they can wear a smaller clothes size then they used to do when they were at a lower weight than their scales show them I would be able to have a great holiday somewhere exotic this Christmas

If you follow Atkins as written, wait patiently till any 'TOM bloat' has left you and do lose fat as well as scales-weight (they are different things) I think it is unlikely that your body will become wasted enough to simulate what someone with a muscle-wasting illness would look like.

So while you would probably lose any fat on your body you might easily add muscle and look more toned and fit. Most of us would love that to happen, but it might not be good news to you

I assume you are using ketosticks...

As you were told before, you can be in ketosis without ever changing the color of the sticks. And a color change does not guarantee weight loss.

In my opinion, ketosticks are just a waste of money. Focus on following the plan and stop peeing on sticks.

If you want to post a complete menu with quantities and net carbs for all foods, we can take a look. Please create a new thread for this though, so that we avoid confusion here.
