  • feeling really low when I wake up in the morning.

Today is my 5th day, though I think its just been 2 days since I have got my menu almost perfect. Will post it soon in "review my menu' section.

Anyways the first 3 days were ok, and they were working days for me, so I had to wake up at 7 and get to work by 8:30 and immediately would have my breakfast.

However these last 2 days were weekends and with guests and all, we had real late nights (still managed to stick to my diet ) but I woke up only by 9:00 or 10:00 am and I woke up almost ready to die!

I felt sooo exhausted and tired. i first have to feed my son some breakfast, and then quickly prepare mine. and I feel as though I am having to drag myself through it all.

I am sure its cause my tummy is sooo empty and I feel a bit naseous (because of all the gas that has built up and feels as though its stuck in my throat.)

An hour or two after breakfast, I am perfectly back to normal and for the rest of the day I am feeling absolutely perfect.

Any ideas what I can do to feel better on waking up?

Did you quit drinking coffee when you started Atkins?

When you post your menu, post what you eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner (and snacks, if you have snacks). Something like,
    Breakfast

    yadda yadda

    Lunch

    yadda yadda

    Dinner

    more yadda yadda
It sounds to me as if you are not eating enough calories, net carbs, fat or protein.

Um... sorry. I remember from the other forum that you are eating too much protein. Did you lower your protein intake and add more fat instead? Too much protein, in the absence of enough fat, can make you feel crappy.

Can you prepare something for breakfast in advance so all you need to do it get it out and heat it up?
I often make crustless quiches with eggs/cheese/cream/cooked meat/cooked veg in them so I have something in the fridge to grab'n'go on those busy times.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I did change the protein amount, reduced it and upped the fat to about 60%.
Just changed the ceasar dressing to 4 tbsp and added butter 1 tbsp.

How are those veggies spread throughout the day? What do you have for dinner?

Your calories are low. I'm too lazy to search for your thread at Atkins.com... but what were your stats (height and current weight)?

Oh, and since you're in India (right?), do you use standard measuring cups and spoons? Or do you measure 1 tbsp of oil, for example, with a regular eating spoon?

And how much water do you drink?

I am indian but not in india, at the moment in dubai. I use a standard tablespoon... is that not right?

Also I just realised thelast 2 days I had spent almost 12 hours without food, eating early, sleeping late and waking up late (as it was a weekend). i will see how things go from monday through to thursday and keep you updated, hopefully I should be better.

Breakfast: I am having veggies/egg/tuna (in form of salad)

                  Lunch: meat

Dinner: veggies/egg/tuna (in form of salad)
My detailed menu is in 'review my menu' section and have made a few more changes to it as well.

Re: feeling really low when I wake up in the morning.

today woke up early and had breakfast at 8:30, and am feeling wonderful :

I guess i figured out why I was miserable these last two days. I now make a salad with the egg, vegtables and tuna and have half in the morning for breakfast and the rest for dinner and thats really filling.

For lunch I have chicken. Have prepared it indian style, so its more easy to eat. really spicy, oily and yummy

Also I am loosing weight and so happy its going well.

Of all the diets I have tried in the last few months, this is the only one where I am not starving and really happy with what i am eating

                    Kudos to atkins

A regular tablespoon might fit more or less than the volume of 1 tbs. Usually it is less (my eating spoons hold about 8 mL... while a measuring tablespoon holds 15), so you are probably eating less than you think you are.

Do you have a kitchen scale?

                          Thankyou Elizellen and Georgiana

I am feeling motivated and not hungry and today has also been a good day so far.
Georgiana, I dont have a kitchen scale, but I do have measuring spoons, however my son has hidden them all over the house that at the moment I only have the 1/2 cup and 1/3 cup ones with me (prestige brand) . I am going to hunt for those spoons soon, so I can be sure I am doing it perfectly.

i use unsalted butter so i can add large amounts of it to my food thats a good way to get your fat % up along with eating eggs

Till you can locate the other spoons you could use the spoon you have been using to fill the 1/2 cup one with water ,counting how many spoonfuls it takes. If it takes 8 spoonfuls to fill it then your spoon is a tablespoon measure and you can carry on using it. If it takes maybe 10 spoonfuls to fill it you will know that your spoon holds 4/5th of a tablespoon and can estimate amounts using it.
