    :wave Hi all!

I am on day 4 of induction I weighed 159 the morning I started. On day 2 I had lost 1 pound. Then day 3 I was back up a pound. Now on day 4 I am still at my original weight of 159. (I know I shouldn't weigh in everyday, but I can't help it) urplequ: Is this normal? My stomach does look a bit smaller. I'm just confused, why did I gain that pound back? Why am I not losing? I am not cheating at all, playing by all the rules.

    any advice appreciated.

    Hi Faith,

It's normal for weight to fluctuate daily. What you are looking for is a downward trend in loss. So put away the scales until Day 14. If you haven't measured yourself as Dr. Atkins said to do, measure yourself now. Inches lost, according to Dr. Atkins, represents the fat emptying from your fat cells.

      Faith,
Try not to weigh yourself everyday, wait until the full 14 days are done. I have my scale out in the garage on a high shelf that is very hard to get to on purpose.

I too, am in induction, day 7. Each waking morning, after making it past another day, I wake up, and feel great, and look at myself in the mirror and feel and think I am seeing a slightly slimmer me. Why do I want to lose those good thoughts with a number on a scale? Wait until the 14 days are done, and then you will really have something to celebrate.

please love yourself enough to stay away from the scale.

it cannot tell you your level of success on this WOE. stick faithfully to this WOE for at least 6 months and then you will have the knowledge and experience required to determine your level of success.

there are so many health benefits derived from freeing
your body from the nightmare of overprocessed frankenfoods.

our bodies have been under attack. always frantically scrambling
to try to find a place to store substances that were never meant
for consumption in the first place. finally, the attacks stop coming
but it takes time for our bodies to know the war is over.

your body is in transition. give it the time and the patience
it requires to adjust to healthier lifestyle.

weight fluctuation is normal. Using an inanimate machine
to determine daily esteem is NOT normal. it can be, in my opinion, psychologically debilitating and a surefire way to sabotage your
        new WOL.

Atkins isn't just about losing weight. Atkins is about
healing compulsive behaviors that don't serve our best
interest. It is a journey in which you will discover important
        things about yourself.

I wish you many new insights on your Atkins journey.

Thanks for all your advice. I keep meaning to measure myself but I always forget. :nono Well I weighed myself today and I was 156. I am very happy. I will try not to step on the scale until next Monday.

It's just so frustrating, while I was pregnant I gained 55 pounds (from 118 to 173) after the birth of my son I started working out and I did lose some weight, down to 148, but then I started gaining and gaining.... Weighing myself daily helps me know that I am losing and that this diet is working for me. Which it is. :joy

          I'll keep you all posted.

            that you might find useful.
