    (4) The book says you can drink Diet Soda with Sucralose/Splenda…What diet soda has this ingredient? I have looked at all Diet Coke, Coke Zero & Diet Pepsi products…am I missing something?

Net carbs are total carbs minus dietary fiber.

    (2) Where could I find sample menus for Induction?
You'd be better off using the Acceptable Foods List to plan your own menus. That's how you learn to eat for life, not to diet.

    (3) What is wrong with taking a Multivitamin that has Iron in it?
Dr. Atkins considered we should be able to get enough iron from our diet. Too much iron is bad for you as it can build up.

Diet Rite is one I know off.

But my advice is not to have any.

And you don't have the book, do you? You should get it and read it.

        Good questions.
I don't know of sample menus. There are some suggestions in this forum

          There's Induction menus here:

Though Linda can be heavy on the cheese, and didn't always get her vegetables!

It's best to make your own menus, though.

            Re: Questions!!

LJoint, you do know that vegetables are a "must" during all phases of Atkins, including Induction... right?

Also, one should drink minimum 64 oz of pure water (not coffee, tea, etc.). Many people do best drinking more than that.

Sweeteners are limited to 3 daily. 8 oz of sweetened drink count as 1 serving of sweetener. And... if you have a sweet tooth, Induction is the time to break your addiction, not to fuel it with low carb sweets.

              Re: Questions!!

There is a Diet Coke with Splenda, but it only comes in 12 oz cans. We have found it at Wal Mart in the US on a regular basis in 12-packs.

You could also ask your local grocer to carry it.

There are several threads like this in the induction forums - look for titles like 'What's for Breakfast/lunch/dinner' to see what others have eaten to get some ideas to spark your taste buds.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

                  Re: Questions!!

                  You've gotten some great advice.

By the way, don't make the mistake of not reading the book. Atkins is a very specific diet and I've seen too many people mess up----healthwise---because they followed Atkins the way they heard it from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend who read it in a magazine 10 years ago. So please read the book: you'll increase your chances of success.
