    Hi Jetta, :wave

At first glance I can tell you that you definitely need more carbs from veggies. Your daily carb count is 20 grams not 15. At 15 grams of carbs your body is likely to slip into starvation mode and make losing weight much more difficult.

Often people think less carbs the better but it's not so. I would add some more veggies throughout the day, maybe toss in a salad with dark leafy greens.

You also might consider using more olive oil, it doesn't have to measured that precisely, olive oil and butter are both the "good healthy fats" that we're allowed to indulge in on Atkins, so indulge away - it's good for you.

You're water intake looks great so I think you're doing a good job keeping yourself hydrated. Maybe add a snack or two, a hard boiled egg, stuffed celery, a roast chicken leg or thigh into your menu just to ensure you don't go hungry - and check that Kraft Mayo Ingredients label for sugar. I may be mistaken but I believe Kraft has Sugar, if you can find a sugar free Mayo or make your own (it's very easy and tastes wonderful) you might be better off.

    Hope this helps,

    Peter ha

Hi Jetta, I also agree you need to add one more cup of salad veggies to that list..though you did have some which is great.

Don't count calories in induction..and especially don't try to keep them low. keeping your calories low is what will put you in starvation mode. I always found that when i actually had more calories in induction is when i seemed to lose more weight..rather than my really low cal days.

Your daily carb count is 20 grams not 15.
You don't need to hit 20g exactly every day..the rule is 'up to' 20 g of carbs. As long as you are getting your veggies in (2c salad veg's 1 c other) keeping your fats up, and keep it under 20 that is good...you do not need to hit 20.

I applaud your water drinking. Many of us need to take a lesson from you.

          Pretty good!

This is pretty good. I agree with the others on the veggies. Also try to get your ratios to 65%- fat, 5%-Carbs, 30%-Protein :yes. Also watch out for that cheese, it has caused stalls in the best of us.

          Good Luck :wave

I think it's a good start. Just a wee bit more veggies.

Try a salad... I don't know about you, but eating a "cup" of celery sounds like a chore. How exactly did you eat that? Did you mix it with some of the other stuff you ate that morning? Anyways... Here's a salad I make that is delicious.... Going by the book, you'll want this salad to come out to about 3 cups in the end, with the tomatoes being no more than one cup of the salad, and also keep track of the amount of cheese you put in it:

Get a large tupperware bowl with a snap-on lid, and add...

              Lettuce

              Raw Spinach leaves

2-3 strips of cooked, torn-up bacon

Small cheese cubes, or grated cheese

Sauteed mushrooms (I just cut a mushroom up, put it in a teacup, spread some butter around on it, and zap it in the microwave, then stir it a bit to get the butter evenly distributed)

              One small tomato, diced

Probably about a quarter cup of mayo

a squirt of vinegar and a squirt of oil

Then I snap on the lid and shake it all up.... I love it. I've been eating this salad everyday to get my veggies, and it's one of the best salads I've ever had.
I'm 26 years old, and I lost weight on this plan in 2005. I'm getting married in August and thought this would be the way to go after making little progress on other diets. I've got 20 lbs to lose for the big day!

                  Sounds good Jetta!
I often have a cup of chopped celery mixed with mayo as a snack - yummy!! If I need the extra fibre I sometimes add a spoonful of psyllium husk to it.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
