  • First day of Induction!

Hey everyone! I just finished my first day of induction, and I am so proud of myself. I am feeling really good for choosing this way of eating, and I cannot wait for the weight loss!

I had 21 net carbs today, and 1600 calories.

Tomorrow I am going to workout for 1/2 hour at the gym, and continue tracking my food with fitday.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

Great to hear you got through your first day with flying colours!!

And well done for exercising from the start too
    Keep up the good work
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Happy holidays!

What's your plan for Christmas? Did you plan what you're going to eat on New Year?

          Re: First day of Induction!

Thank you so much everyone!! I really appreciate your support. Yes, most of the carbs came from veggies. I am cutting out sweetner and cream altogether, because I have portion problems. I have been cheating in past and eating tons of nuts on induction, which I know is a no-no. So I am cutting that out too.

What seems to work for me is breakfast/lunch/dinner and a bedtime snack. Also, if I am hungry between meals, eating a small snack like a cheese stick or some celery and cream cheese.

My intention is to lose 50 lbs -- any idea how long that will take me?

No one can answer that. But it doesn't really matter how long it takes since you'll be doing Atkins for your whole life, does it? It's more important to learn how to maintain.

Good point and thank you. I tend to focus too much on the weight loss. I have it that when I reach 130 lbs, "I will arrive."

Sticking to induction today --- missing binge foods, but committed to remaining on Atkins -- to the T.
