I've tried this before.....but failed. The funny thing about is I really believe it works! I think I'm scared of screwing up by accident so I justscrew it up on purpose! Usually on the 2nd or 3rd day. I've been feeling really bad lately and I know it's because I've gained ten pounds. I'm gonna keep coming here for support!!!!!

Re: Starting induction today.....nervous!!!
Welcome back! Try to focus on taking this one day at a time, one bite at a time. It's good that you've recognized that you screw up on purpose because that can help you stop the self sabotage trend!
I'm back again after screwing up myself. Don't beat up on yourself too much. Just remember that this is a lifestyle change, and we can always get back on plan with the next bite!

Welcome back!
I hope you've reread the book and have at least the Induction info fresh in your mind.

Re: Starting induction today.....nervous!!!
Welcome back and good luck!
I also think it helps to have your meals/snacks planned out. Get the other stuff out of your way if you can (illegal foods). I have family members who don't eat Atkins so what I did was buy them food that i didn't like and wouldn't be tempted by. Then I bought myself all my favorite Atkins friendly foods so I would be excited about them (a steak and salad is always my "go to" meal when I need something I really like). I also don't say "never" to myself. I take it one day at a time and make choices by asking myself "at the end of the day, what is going to make me feel good?".
You can do it and we are here to help!

Re: Starting induction today.....nervous!!!
Hi and welcome back to Atkins --
Good for you getting back on plan! This is a great place to be and you'll find all the support you want or need. I hope you’ve read the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book it's the edition we follow on this site. If not it's worth a few dollars to purchase – check www.half.com or www.amazon.com.
Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water daily, exercise and take a non-iron vitamin daily. There are so any different forums here there is something for just about everyone. Since you've done Atkins before you may enjoy the STAC (second time around club), they have a daily sign in that people enjoy Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. Also many people start a journal to keep track of themselves. It’s also a great place to meet new people http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/journal-chats/.
Don't set yyourself up for failure by having food around that you shouldn' teat...but if you have a bad day don't beat yourself up, get back up and back on plan -- none of us is perfect - just don't it over and over - you'll have to learn to eat this way for life, not just until you loose the weight - that why we don't refer to Atkins as a "diet"
Good luck to you!

Re: Starting induction today.....nervous!!!
Thanks for all the support.....yes...I am very familiar with induction foods...my problem was not lack of knowledge...although, some questions do pop up now and then....like what about taking tylenol and things ? I know cough syrups and other liquids are off limits, do they make sugar free ones? if so where do you get them. I've been running a little fever today and took some tylenol. I also take one lysiene, two calcium, and a vitamin b everyday is this ok?
So far today I've had:
B- 3 scrambled eggs
L- chicken breast, 1 cup romaine, 1 cup salad veggiesw/ a little olive oil and vinegar
I have left over chicken so I'll probably have that with 1 cup broccoli tonight for dinner.
Thanks you guys for coming to my aide....I think I have enough knowledge but always 2nd guess myself...so the input is very exciting!

If you need it, take it.Originally posted by cinnycinda View Postwhat about taking tylenol
Yes, there are sugar free versions.I know cough syrups and other liquids are off limits, do they make sugar free ones?
In Germany... at the pharmacy.if so where do you get them.
Are you in the US?
Check the ingredients in them. They might have sugar added.I also take one lysiene, two calcium, and a vitamin b everyday is this ok?
Make sure you are consuming enough calories... at least your BMR: BMR CalculatorB- 3 scrambled eggs
L- chicken breast, 1 cup romaine, 1 cup salad veggiesw/ a little olive oil and vinegar

And choose nutritious vegetables. More net carbs from vegetables generally means better nutrition."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

I've also started today, also my second time around. It worked for me before, so I need to get back on track. I've been doing fertility treatments for the last 2 years (7 in total!!!) and it's time to get my body back to a healthy weight.
Good luck CinnyCinda

Great advice, JaneOriginally posted by Whatsername View PostI have family members who don't eat Atkins so what I did was buy them food that i didn't like and wouldn't be tempted by. Then I bought myself all my favorite Atkins friendly foods so I would be excited about them
I can buy chocolate cream eclairs and cream doughnuts for my husband without feeling any cravings as I never did eat them before Atkins
And to be able to snack on meat and cheese rollups or creamcheese stuffed celery feels so decadent to me!!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
