  • Day 3 and Feeling Great!

Today is Day 3 of induction and I feel marvelous!@

The first couple days were a little rough... at some point in the afternoon on day 1, I thought I wouldn't make it. I felt run down, and nauseous. I was craving carbs (any kind of carbs - fruit, veggies, cookies LOL) like there was no tomorrow.

Yesterday was a little bit better. I had my moments of feeling yucky from lack of veggies (I used to eat a LOT of veggies every day), but it was a lot easier than day one.

    Today, I feel great.

I've been sleeping better since the first night I started! Before, I was having trouble getting to sleep, and I kept waking up around 5:00am, unable to go back to sleep.

I thought that feeling lousy was supposed to happen a few days into this (after using up my body's glycogen stores). Maybe I have yet to experience that, or maybe my body acts differently because I have Insulin Resistance.

No matter what, I'm feeling good now, so I'll rejoice for it!

Can't wait for my weigh-in on Saturday!!!

Keep up the good work, folks

Bekki - you are eating your allowed 3 cups of veg, I hope Try to choose the more nutritious ones rather than just lettuce!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          Thanks for the support, everyone!

I'm DEFINITELY eating my 3 cups of veggies per day. 1 cup of spring salad veggies with dinner, and the others are usually peppers, mushrooms, cucumbers, broccoli, etc.

I CAN'T WAIT to eat more veggies! I cooked broccoli with dinner last night and measured out 2 cups (1 for me, 1 for DH). It looks so pitiful there in my steamer. LOL

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing so well!

Today is day 5, and I still feel stellar. I've been cheating and weighing every day (soooo curious) and as of this morning, I'm down 12.5 lbs! I know a lot of it is water, but I'm still happy for it!

What really amazes me is that I have Insulin Resistance - all my life, it has been virtually IMPOSSIBLE to lose weight. I made sure not to set my expectations too high... I was really hoping for 5 - 10 lbs weight loss by the end of induction. I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment.

I am still preparing myself that this rapid loss could slow down at any time, but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!!!
