  • NEW!....and I have a question

    HI,
I *just* got my book, I haven't read it yet but am excited to start...I am going on holidays and won't start until I get back (Jan 17).

Ok so my question is: I am allergic to eggs...are there lots of other things for breakfast besides JUST eggs? (I can eat eggs in other foods like breads etc, just not on their own...it's weird I know!)

You don't have to eat eggs during Atkins.

As for breakfast, you can eat anything on the Induction Acceptable Foods List that you want. For example, I eat leftovers frequently for breakfast: I simply heat them up in the microwave or I eat them right out of the refrigerator. I especially like hot chicken salad and cold thinly sliced roast pork. We have an old-timer whose favorite breakfast was taco salad.

So think outside of the box.

      Re: NEW!....and I have a question

I agree with Megs, no need to eat eggs for breakfast at all!

Actually I don't think I have eaten boiled/fried/scrambled/poached eggs for breakfast in the 6 plus years I have been Atkineering except for a few times when at a hotel where the only options were cereals, bagels, croissants, toast or eggs and bacon.

Can you stomach eggs in a quiche? I often make crustless quiche with eggs/cream/bacon/veggies/cheese as a quick'n'easy meal or snack.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I eat a lot of leftovers for breakfast and soups are also great. Be creative and think out side the box

I also like a piece of ham or other thinly sliced meat wrapped around a piece of cheese and/or celery. - watch deli slices for sugars/starches tho.

Look for bacon without sugar (under any of its many names) and sausage with no sugar, grains or starches. Dr. Atkins also recommends bacon with no nitrates (nitrates cause cancer), but it is VERY difficult to find bacon with neither nitrates nor sugar.
