  • no wonder!!!

my weightloss has been moving snails' pace and i've been so frustrated. i just realized eggs have a carb a peice. i've been eating eggs all day and in most of my recipes without counting them. that musta thrown me off. i guess induction starts again tomorrow done properly
i'm 25 years old, mom of two, ready to do this once and for all!
note: i am breast-feeding, though my baby is nearly weaned, eating most solid food now. i am doing this diet with the knowledge, approval, and at the suggestion of my doctor and having done my homework. i will not discuss the matter in any of my posts. please don't bring it up.

    Re: no wonder!!!

You don't have to start over induction - we all make mistakes in the beginning! Just continue on from where you were, but count the carbs in everything you eat The only foods that truly have no carbs are fresh meats. Check the labels or a carb counter for everything else

      That's rounding up.

A large egg has 0.39 net carbs.

They do have carbs. I think many do not realize this. I count my large ones as 0.6.
This is one of the reasons I have found fitday useful (FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal) because it has made it easier to realize what foods may have carb in it. Many people for instance do not count cheese either. Even though cheese can be quite carby.

Oh dear. I think I may have done the same thing. The thing is the eggs I buy say that the carb content is TRACE. Do I still have to count them as 1 carb?

Don't guess. Use FitDay or USDA.

They might be rounding up, so calling anything between 0.51 and 0.99, 1 carb. Maybe count 0.6 grams each for yours unless they are extra large or jumbo eggs.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

0.39 net carbs per large egg is pretty "trace"!

I noticed that Woohoo is in UK. Maybe the 'trace' carb count is for 100 grams rather than one individual egg? When I next go shopping I shall look at a few cartons to see what they list.

The USDA has 100 grams of egg, whole, raw (large) @ .78 net carbs.

The weight of a single large egg is 50 grams.

My large eggs list 1g carb also. Question: could it be that organic, free range, Omega-3 eggs have more carbs than factory eggs? Maybe because of the feed? Or because the chickens are running around doing chicken things?

Why do eggs have carbs anyways? Meat and poultry doesn't.
